What if there was a place on the blockchain where like minded individuals could all come together to share their experiences, their knowledge and their passion for precious metals....? And i dont just mean some wishy-woshy, half arsed, easy come easy go location, i mean a true community!! Somewhere set up, by the community, run by the community, for the community......
Welcome everybody to - the #silvergoldstackers community. Weve been an active community on steemit the blockchain for over 6 years now. I can not prove this next part, but i strongly believe that we may have been the first "true" community to arise on steemit/hive.
Ive been very nostalgic this past week or two, and I did some deeper diving into the history of our community, and dug up the original call to community and first ever members list:
A name that has gone down in folklore amongst our community is @hgmsilvergold. The first account to call for a silver community on the blockchain - ORIGINAL BLOG from 6+yrs ago.
Followed shortly after by a post from @pawos- DETAILING OUR FIRST MEMBERS. Still a few names floating around even now.
It didnt take us (the community) long to all band together and commit to a true community account that helped the meners of the #silvergoldstackers clan grow. The @ssg-community account was born on the back of a little trouble, but it has grown from strength to strength over the years all thanks to the joint efforst of its members.
I wont bore you all with the ins and outs of it all, but suffice to say, the @ssg-community account has never, will never and can never be set to benefit a single individual. "She" is owned by everyone of us as we have all helped her to grow.
We all chipped in our bit, doing what we could to help her steem power hive power grow. Then some bright spark(claim your glory now as ive forgotten who it was) suggested we organise the blockchains biggest raffle.....
So thats exactly what the community set out to archive, and in my humble opinion, executed superbly. We held a #monsterraffle where members of the community volunteered up their hard earned silver coins/bullion/rounds as prizes, which were raffled off to raise funds to power our baby girl - "Precious the silver Mermaid" aka @ssg-community.
Well now, im thinking, we could, should the community be willing and able, go for it all over agin??. The time just feels right!! Theres an excitment around cryptocurrency again, a bull market is just on the horizon and i think its time to grab the metaphorical bull by the horns and run with it??
SO MY QUESTION IS - CAN WE PULL OFF #MONSTERRAFFLE 3.0?
If you dont own any precious metals, then why not tell us? As a community we encourage ALL engagements and encourage everyone to take the plunge and own at lease a sinlge ounce of silver or a fraction of gold. If your struggleing to find a safe and secure place to buy, reach out to the community as there is always someone willing to offer their time and advice to help you out.
