It’s been over two years in the making. WOO started with a simple vision: bring old-school territory wrestling to the blockchain.
On Wednesday, the first major, public step for this reality comes to Hive. We are launching the playable public Beta on Wednesday, December 13th. (Want an exact time? Join our Discord to get the down-to-the-minute updates.)
Token rewards will not be live until the end of the month (aka you won’t win $WOO tokens… yet). Mostly everything else is up and running though, including:
- Wrestler NFT Leveling
- Land NFT upgrades
- Matchmaking
- City traveling
- Organization upgrades
One more thing we’re waiting on is full animation support. But, right now you’ll be able to see animated match replays of matches you have completed if you're a premium subscriber to our discord!
🎮 Gameplay overview
Right, so maybe it’s been a while since you’ve reviewed how WOO works.
Here’s the high-level breakdown:
- You need wrestler NFTs to play matches
- Manager NFTs also help to give you an edge
- Level your NFTs up to make them… better (crazy, we know)
- Pick a place to battle in the land of WOO. Landowners will make a cut of the rewards (when they’re live)
- And if you own land, upgrade the facilities to make it more attractive for battles!
- Start the matchmaking
- Each fight has 4 rounds: 3 Undercard Matches and 1 Main Event
- Each fight has a Budget (random for now). NFTs have a cost to play.
- Pick your wrestlers and managers for each fight
- You must get 3 points to win (1 point for Undercard wins, 2 points for Main Event)
There’s so much more to it, of course. There are so many posts and tips and content about the mechanics (we’ve been dropping info for, well, years). Look through the WOO community, or join the Discord and ask around. Or, visit the very well-documented GitBook (Thank you again to @bladewing124 for putting that beast together!).
🏗 Beta testing expectations
While we’re in Beta, we certainly expect to find bugs and wrinkles and mistakes. Helping us squash those bugs is an enormously important aspect of making sure we deliver a world-class gaming experience and show the world what can be developed on Hive.

🎁 $WOO Token Rewards
This is the last missing piece of the puzzle. Earning $WOO for your battles.
We still need to do some tinkering and testing to make sure that everything works properly before releasing $WOO rewards. The target for this is by the end of this month (a great way to ring in the New Year). We’ll make a lot of noise about this and, of course, talk about it on Discord.

🎉 What to expect from WOO in 2024
2024 is going to be insane. There’s no other way to put it.
Not only is the game actually here and expected to be paying rewards, but:
- We’ve signed several new real-life wrestling partners, who
- Help us get into VIP situations at real-life events,
- Of which we will be attending at least three, including,
- WrestleCon, WrestleMania, and the San Diego Comic Con, where
- We will represent Hive and WOO, backed by our celebrity partners, and
- Showing off unique hardware like the Hive Title Belts, all while
- Creating new game content, including the BETA packs, Gym Bags, and of course,
- The WOO Crates, which will be available very soon (Announcement coming this week)
WHEW.
That’s a lot of stuff. Never mind if a bull market shows up. We won’t rely on that though—the WOO plan and brand are rock solid and strong, we’re making noise and showing up rain or shine, bear or bull.
