I was raised by a teacher.
A strict disciplinarian.
My mom is a tough woman.
A dogged and resilient professional.
A no-nonsense woman.
Growing up, if we mess up, she wouldn't hesitate to discipline us.
She moulded my siblings and me into admirable and cultured adults.
Mom articulates so well.
Her brilliant and attitude influenced me a lot.
I hardly take rubbish.
But has I have started managing people and leading teams virtually and physically I have begun to change.
I have come to understand that not every situation demands a strong response.
Sometimes a mild approach may be ideal.
And at other times, you are supposed to use that authority just to ensure things are done swiftly.
Because in the long run, you are the one to be held accountable by the top management or anyone you are answerable to.
Everyone on earth is answerable to someone.
Leadership is tough.
You need a great deal of patience and perseverance.
Managing people is one herculean task.
Big shout out to all supervisors, line managers, head of departments,VPs, CEOs, business owners, and anyone leading a team or company.
Truth be told, it's not a easy tasks.
Many don't see what happens behind closed doors.
If you can make it easier for any of them in your own little way.
Support them maximally.
Someday you would get to that position and understand better.
And would need the support of those you lead or manage.
What goes around come around.
