Change is hard and humans still has chimps behaviour in them. Our tech evolved faster than our behavioural brains. And to be fair decentralised tech so far has not really catch up to the fast and efficiencies of centralised systems. Decentralised is slowly getting there, kind of exactly the pace from dial up to the Fiber/WiFi-6 evolution. Give it take around 2030ish we should have something decentralised which actually resolves Trilemma of decentralised money/blockchains.
In my opinion once we have decentralised internet competing hardware/network/software + wide network adoption of it, we should expect very efficient solutions to Trilemma of blockchain. Just my opinion. Network and hardware has big role in evolution of software which I think many times goes sort of unnoticed.
I think hardware is there, very good ones, but having it open source and easy to setup by everyone is not that easy, so decentralised alternative internet doesn’t have network effect yet.
