Back in 2019, we had the Isuzu D Max Blade on review - however, the one thing we didn't do was to go off-roading in it.
When we had the chance at the end of last year to get our hands on another D Max Blade - this one fitted with Lazer Lights - there was only one thing to do...take it off-roading in The Lake District.
We really utilised the capabilities of this pick up, especially those Lazer Lights, making night time off-roading a breeze.
With a 600mil wading depth, and a robust 4WD system - and of course, a high ride height - you will be hard pushed taking this workhorse out of its comfort zone.
Annabelle started off during the day, on a less demanding trail, having fun whilst bombing around, whizzing through big puddles.
Whilst waiting for darkness to fall we munched our way through our picnic - sorry, no muffin flinging today - and were well rested and ready to go once the sun had gone down.
Gotta tell you - those Lazer Lights are phenomenal! You could see everything. This turned out to be a good thing when you see how eroded the track was.
After late summer rain, and plenty of traffic, so much rock and shale had gone, making the track far more of a challenge than the last time we were on it.
Luckily, the D Max Blade took it all in stride. It bounced, jiggled, bumped and prowled over humps and through dips, clinging where you needed it, and gliding through the terrain with ease.
Annabelle now wants Lazer Lights on all pick ups ;)
