Rag Day is one of the most anticipated days in school life,👨🏫👩🏫 it finally came.
For many, it was the day to dress crazy, act free, make money, and celebrate how far we’ve come. For me, it was just another day. I honestly didn’t plan to go, and to be very truthful, I didn’t even want to go. I wasn’t feeling the hype or the pressure to show up and join the crowd.
And you know what? I was perfectly fine with my decision.
Still, even though I stayed away physically, I wasn’t left out completely.thanks to my amazing course mate
Pictures, videos, snaps, and voice notes everything started pouring into my phone ,every vibration brought another hilarious scene or a beautiful moment captured in time , I sat down scrolling through all the images and watching the clips one after another, I was smiling, laughing, and shaking my head.
Some people wore the craziest costumes you could imagine ,wigs, oversized clothes, weird makeups and rest of them.
There were those that impersonated celebrities, traditional kings, and even mimicked some of our lecturers. "Yes, this is exactly what Rag Day should look like ,
No fake smiles. No forced poses.
Just young people living in the moment, celebrating their journey so far, and forgetting their worries for a day ,after all the countless lectures, stressful tests, endless assignments, and pressure to meet deadlines, this was their moment to breathe and just be young, wild, and free .
And honestly, I didn’t regret not going. It was like being handed a piece of the day wrapped up in laughter and good wishes.
It made me appreciate the beauty of living in a generation where moments can be shared instantly, and the reminder that joy is something you can feel, even from miles away.
Watching the videos, I realized how much we've all grown. Some faces looked more mature, some smiles had more stories behind them, but the energy was still that of dreamers , people who have fought through challenges and still found a reason to celebrate.
And honestly? I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
