It is my pleasure to announce that the new Hive powered dApp and general Hive front-end 'Ureka' is now live and ready for testing at ureka.social.
Ureka is designed as a security and privacy centric website that fully embraces the principles of transparency and decentralisation that make Hive great. There is zero tracking of your activity happening in the background. You connect to the Ureka server once to download the code that runs the site and from then on all activity stems from your device connecting directly to Hive's API servers. The Ureka server has no way of knowing what you do on Hive beyond that you are using the Ureka software.
The site supports Hive Keychain for all operations and so your keys are never sent anywhere - they remain within your device at all times. The Ureka site and server never have access to your Hive keys.
So far, the majority of core Hive features are included into the site - though it doesn't yet have support for the DHF, account creation or witness voting. These will come in future updates.
Testing Times!
I've been testing the code here myself for the last few days and ironed out a few issues. No doubt there are more hidden away. I haven't tested it at all in mobile devices, so its likely you may find some bugs that way.
Please let me know what you find in the comments below and I will fix them asap.
