A week before October ended, I managed to find this place and rented a space in one of the rooms of this studio-type apartment. This was suggested by an acquaintance in college and she also lives here for almost a year now. The apartment is located blocks away from college and a ride away to the downtown area. If the future situations permits, we might transfer here on our new building at the main campus and with that, I wouldn't need to ride a jeepney but only walk for five minutes. It will be a huge savings on my financials if ever.
On an immediate transaction, I have inquired, agreed, paid the advanced payments, and then moved in weeks later. I'm currently living here for almost three months, but barely staying since I was going out most of the time, especially that I'm still working as an on the job trainee in a company for my graduation compliance this year. Aside from that, I still have to go to school for my other subjects. It consumed most of my time for these past months that I didn't even have the time for myself, and when I do, it's a luxury.
This time, I've finally had my weekend for myself. Supposedly, I still need to render another day of duty for the training but I preferred to absent just for a day. My body just wouldn't get up from my bed early in the morning this Sunday, so I choose to sleep a little more.
When I was in the mood at late morning later, I did my chores and walked around my landlady's garden after I hung my laundry to dry outside. These plants was the one that caught my eyes the first time I went here, especially those dragon fruits hanging on the rooftop and the railings. They bear fruits as I arrived here, but now they don't, it might not be their season yet, but I craved when I see those fresh fruits.
The owner of this apartment is a gardening enthusiast. Every morning, he'll come up here to tend to his plants and he has veggies too, such as different kinds of spinach wherein it can be planted to pots and can grow conveniently to a limited space. It could be best to stay here in the balcony watching the plants, listening to the humming of the birds, and breath some fresh air. A downside of this relaxing view is just to where it is facing. This is often where the sun strikes from morning until the afternoon and it's very hot to stay here in this area even inside, we have to use the air-conditioning to cool down and not to suffocate ourselves from the heat.
The best thing that happened to me this weekend was that I got to sleep in the afternoon when I didn't have any chores to do. That was more refreshing than going to the beach actually. If I haven't remembered that I need to go and visit the downtown area for some errands and to attend the Sunday mass, I wouldn't dare to get up until night time.
Say hello to these famous landmarks here!
It's the century old Gazebo and the San Sebastian Cathedral of Bacolod City. I took this route towards the cathedral as it was the nearest and accessible since there's a heavy traffic on the other side of the road. I went to church after doing some errands but sadly,, I haven't been able to hear the start of the mass and the Priest's Homily. I just prayed and thanked God for the blessings and Graces, then went back home to enjoy my rest once more.
How about you? How did you spend your weekend?
