The day would start with a blindfold...No peeking! I'd take your hand and lead you to...
Hmm...maybe I should add some perspective before I go on.
This post responds to one of the #weekend-engagement topics for week 167: "If you could do anything with me, (galenkp), for a day in real life what would it be and why?"
Reading through galenkp's posts I feel he leaves much left unsaid and there's so many thoughts and feelings laying just below the surface hidden to those who merely skim his writing or those who don't take the time to look deeper.
It's between the lines and gaps where he pours his heart and at times I feel there's much more in what's left unsaid than written in the words. I see passion, struggle, triumph, highs and lows, courage, confidence, fragility at times, great strength and endurance...there's so much there. No one could ever truly know a person, even if they were very close to them, however we can see snippets of who people are and it's those snippets that prompt me to write this post for the weekend-engagement.
Now, back to that blindfold.

The day would start with a blindfold...No peeking! I'm taking you out for a day and I want it to be a surprise, that's part of the fun.
We board the plane and turn left, it's Business Class of course, you deserve it and it's not a short flight, I want you to be comfortable, Australia to Denmark is a long way. Naturally you know we're on a plane and I permit the blindfold to come off, eating might be challenging if I didn't. I'll put it back on later though.
We land and make our way to a hotel room at the LEGOLAND Billund Resort. I have to lead you by the hand of course, the blindfold is back on...there's a surprise waiting in the room for you though and the excitement is building.
I have read in your posts how much you miss your niece and nephew, @smallsteps and @mrbonkers, so I've arranged to have them flown to Denmark to see you and spend time at Legoland with you; that's the big surprise. I know, awesome, yes?
When we get into the room I reach up and remove the blindfold and they come running to you and jump into your arms with cries of uncle g-dog! You forget about the excitement of being at the centre of all things Lego and hug them so tightly...and then the fun begins.
The way you talk about those two little people makes me smile, you clearly love them so much, but I can feel the underlying sadness in your words and how difficult it is for you to be so far away from your niece and nephew. You have said as much of course, but I think there is much you don't say, that there's a hole within you that only they can fill. That's why, if I could do anything with you for a day, I would bring you all together in a place you would all love to be and help create a memory that would last forever.
I know it would take more than a day to do this, it's hypothetical though, so I can ignore the rules of space and time I think.
