I was chatting with a friend today about the concept of inspiring oneself to achieve in a world that promotes the concept of mediocrity as acceptable and seems not to put as much emphasis on seeking to achieve at higher or greater levels than in the past. We are both business owners and have worked very hard at building them and sustaining the success we have found respectively; of course, that same work-ethic has spilled over into our personal lives as well.
I'm of the opinion that a person needs to trust themselves and to back themselves and know what's required and have the strength and commitment to do those things. If it's not done by ourselves individually no one will do it for us.
I see it as my responsibility to self-create the person I will truly be happy being and to work towards being that person for all of my life. We each have a finite time span and the best way to live it well is to fan the little sparks and embers that are within us into flame.

Here's another Saturday Selections installment, one of a series of posts in which I share some music I've been listening to. I know you won't like everything I select and that's ok, it's my selection after all.
If you like music and want to share some with the rest of us you're free to do so and maybe you'll even help someone find some music they haven't already discovered. If you wish to use the #saturdayselections tag in the weekend experiences community that's ok too, it's a free space to do as you wish.
