Hello friends of @weekendexperiences, it's a pleasure to greet you and hope you have a wonderful and productive week. School vacation has begun, the perfect time for children to rest, play, and have fun without worrying about homework. For parents, it's also a time of respite from preparing lunchboxes. This is my entry for the weekend commitment topics proposed by @galenkp, an initiative that invites us to reflect on various aspects of life and personality. I'll answer question number 3:
What activity do you do only on weekends, and why?
The weekend is the most anticipated time at work, as we have "free" Saturday and Sunday, since my workday runs from Monday to Friday. What I regularly do on the weekend is:
*Go to church and participate in the joint service (Sunday school), which is held on Sundays, as its name suggests.
*Organize the house and the upcoming activities.
*Do laundry. I could also do it another day, but I prefer the weekend because that way I can completely clean my son's uniforms and my family's work and everyday clothes.
*I organize the clothes I'll wear to work during the week.
*As for food preparation, I speed up the process by chopping vegetables. I store them in portions in containers, so when it's time to cook, I just have to add them to the meat or other food I'm preparing. I do the same with meat, separating the portions and only taking what I need out of the refrigerator, without having to defrost the entire tray of meat, fish, or chicken.
Another activity I do on the weekends, and also other days of the week when time allows, is sewing. Between Saturday and Sunday, I set aside a few hours to dedicate to sewing. I don't sew exclusively on the weekend, but I do leave some time to complete or finish some projects. This weekend we had a holiday and it was long, which allowed me to pursue other activities and finish several sewing projects.
I also look forward to the weekend to rest. Rest is very important, and I take it seriously. I'm no longer at the age of youthful strength and vitality, and my body needs rest. There's nothing better than a restful sleep to regain energy. Sometimes I think the weekend goes by too quickly, and I think I'm actually waiting longer for it, because it moves so fast. I've had many weekends where I haven't been able to sew because I prefer to prioritize my rest. I'm gradually phasing out my sewing projects without neglecting my rest, which is essential for my well-being.
Blessings!
