It's been a long time since I last tried to think about coincidences in my life. There are some related to the stuff I do. For example, my namesake who is also a luthier and taught me the craft has something to with my family. Back when we didn't exist, my grandfather helped his cousin, who was the owner of the factory that made instruments in the city, with a truck full of wooden boxes and pallets.
But it doesn't stop there. That cousin was married to a cousin of my grandpa. And this luthier's grandfather was the music teacher of a cousin of my grandfather. The world goes round and we are in the middle taking and giving. And so the cycle keeps going. Then, we come to the scene again. Helping each other, teaching each other and so on.
That one is a pretty cool coincidence. Maybe something else will come up some time soon.
However, one of the weirdest coincidences in my life was meeting my friend and colleague, José. That was back to the first semester of UDO. We came from a similar story. We both finished high school and went to Caracas to do our business. Then, after two years, came back to Cumaná and get into UDO to study the same thing. Did I mention we are both musicians? We have recorded some stuff. But those are videos for the previous blockchain. We both graduated on the same day and we were in the same musical groups at UDO. It was a really funny business.
Spending time studying and hanging out with José was awesome. He's like 10 times funnier than me and a hundred times a better musician than I. I guess that also one of the reason I spent so much time near him. Learning from others is really cool. I don't know if he learned something from me. I remember one time I had to explain some math stuff. It wasn't easy. Some people don't get along well with music. He's one of those.
Nowadays, he's finished his degree for teaching music in Switzerland and has already formed a family. We talk from time to time. He's kid is an exact copy of him!
