Hey there, beautiful Hive people!
Are you familiar with that quote above?, Well, I heard this as a kid and just got a silly throwback memory about it.
A few years ago on a Saturday morning while I was at out backyard garden checking my plants, I called my husband who was at that time in the house watching a movie and I said, "Honey, come here and let me show you something amazing! Hurry, this is urgent!".
So I led my husband to my Purple Chili plant and showed him that its bearing fruits.
My husband was like:
"Wow, cool! Very cool! Look at the colors!" and then he reached for it to touch. I said, "Oh dah oh oh... hey hey, don't you touch my plant!" (Hand slap)
Some of you gardeners here can prolly relate to this protect your garden at all costs mentality. Anyone? Funny thing is that I am rather graceful in my movements and talks soft. That moment, I struck like a viper and startled my husband with my sharp "DONT TOUCH!". I am very protective with my plants. Don't mess this country girl's peppers lol.
Just a little information for those who are new to gardening. According to what I've read from books, magazines and on the internet, plants truly detest when you touch them, evidently. Also it has observed that most plants are very delicate to touch, and, surprisingly, a light touch can altogether hinder their development. Plants respond to being talked to better than being touched.
So yeah, just look with your eyes and not with your hands! If you want a seedling, just let me know haha.
Anyway, one of my favorite colors is purple and I bought 2 purple chili seedlings (they already bearing fruits) when my husband and I went to see a movie one weekend here in my town.
Oh, one more thing. My husband posted a silly purple chili joke on his Facebook timeline that day and goes:
"Men are you lonely? Is it hard for you to approach women? Is it hard to get your words out? THIS PURPLE SILI (CHILI) PLANT IS YOUR CURE. Forget taking a puppy to the park or carrying a baby in the grocery. Just carry this PURPLE CHILI in the mall and the girls will flock to you asking questions and taking pictures. The rest is up to you. How do I know? It happened to me today. It can happen for you too!"
LOL
Glad he did not tell the ladies, "DON'T TOUCH!"
I planted and grew them in my backyard and made more seedlings. I gave most of them to my relatives and neighbors.
According to the seller, there are different types of purple chilies and what I got is called "Capsicum Frutescens" and was imported from Malaysia or Thailand. I can't even remember which of the two. It resembles as the Philippine "Siling Labuyo" which is red in variety, yet it tastes very similar. Some of the fruits of my purple chilies are white then it becomes purple as it develops. It is additionally zesty and spicy which I like the most.
Just some random silly and spicy weekend memories worth smiling.
Hope everyone is having a great day as we slide close to another weekend.
One love,
@bloghound
