People have different ways of living up to the “you only live once” thought.
Some are into traveling, and a few choose to focus on working on their careers. Some people believe they must spend more time with their family and loved ones.
Different cases and perspectives lie within this idea of living how we want. But we all have a common denominator – to have fun in this life while we still can.
The idea of having fun has been in my head since I was younger. Through the years, my opinion of it is treasuring moments with my family, having parties with my friends, and doing daring adventures.
But when 2023 came, I had the idea of having fun by hearing life stories and spending time with people with different perspectives. In that case, you will also learn the meaning of life for them.
I am always into travel and food, but this time was different. I spent a whole day with people I unexpectedly became friends with, which was such a fantastic moment. We planned to stay overnight at the beach of Botolan to finish the remaining parts of our paper (Thesis Study).
At first, I thought being with them the whole night would feel awkward, but I was wrong. We enjoyed getting mangoes from the tree, even if it meant climbing the roof. I waited for mangoes to catch while a friend made most of the effort.
After that, we already went to the beach and started cooking, which was also interesting since we cooked in an old-school style where no gas stoves were needed.
While cooking, preparing the food at the table was also great, especially when I started peeling off the mangoes we got.

Also, one brought fish for free as our viand for lunch and dinner. After a few minutes of waiting, we had a feast for our lunch.
When night came, we were gathered at a table while doing the necessary tasks we had to finish that night. It was exhausting, but we had planned on doing a bonfire while star-gazing after, so we decided to finish what we had come for.
As soon as we accomplished the task, we headed to the area where we prepared the woods for the bonfire and lit them up. We also placed a picnic mat on the sand.
The fire illuminated the place, and we loved how it turned out beautiful. We took pictures as the fire danced with the wind and then lay down for our star-gazing moment.
The night was filled with laughter, and I heard amazing stories from my companions. It was a great learning experience – not from the book, but from the real-life experiences that changed their perspectives of fun, life, and the future. Another memory added to my #weekendexperiences.
