Lazy is what I'd call myself so far this Saturday; I had every intention to mow and edge my front and back lawn, and I'll get to it at some stage because I love my lawn and want it to look good mostly for my own enjoyment...and the pleasure I get from seeing my neighbors try and out do me and fail miserably, but I've been motivation-challenged which basically means lazy and I'm ok with it.
I enjoyed breakfast but didn't like reading the news on my phone, there's nothing good there and even though I don't buy into the mainstream media and seek my information from far more reliable sources I can't help but hate the lies they sell us.
To cheer up I brewed some more coffee, black and strong, and put some music on to chase away the lingering thoughts about the media and their propaganda and to motivate me to fire up my lawn mower. I listened to music and drank coffee for another hour or more and a couple Metallica tracks were in the line up along with Guns N' Roses. I never loved the latter when they were popular but seem to have acquired a taste for them now as time goes by. There was a few tracks from Yelawolf, a southern rapper, who partnered up with Shooter Jennings on an album called 'Sometimes Y' with rock-oriented music including this one Yelawolf & Shooter Jennings which I really like.
Did it motivate me to mow the lawn? Yes it did and were there jealous looks from one of my neighbors as my billiard table flat, luscious green and sharp-edged lawn put his scrappy front lawn-shambles to shame? Absolutely there was and I even gave him a wave as if to say, 'your lawn is never going to be as good as mine so suck it', which felt good.
