Last week I made a post about my friends whose wife gave birth to a bouncing baby girl. It is in the culture of Nigeria to name their children after 8 days, be it Muslims or Christians. Today she completed 8 days which shows the day for naming. Naming was done today, and we all celebrated to the brim. Everyone from different angles including friends and families was fully present.
It was a happy day for us here who were present as the father which happened to be my friend was ready to spend money to make this day memorable. He has every reasons to celebrate as there were serious talk before he got married.
Pastors were fully present to pray for the baby by pouring out words of blessings to the child. At first, the pastor preached, after which the name was given and the baby's grandfather who happened to be a pastor took over the prayer. When he was through with his part of the prayer, Grandma took over, which led to countless blessings while praying. Another pastor took over and so on. Those who prayed for the baby were about six. Those who sat in the high table are all pastors.
When the prayers were done, everyone was served with food, and it was truly great entertainment with huge meat been attached to each person's food.
I'm so sorry for not inviting you to the party. Many invitees after the party started dancing, and we're filled up with lots of skills. They danced to their satisfaction.
Oh... I have forgotten to tell you all the names she was given. Her names are: anointed and ufoma. The name ufoma is a native name which means "PEACE" while the other name is a Christian. This shows that in Nigeria here we have the habit off making a child at least one native name before giving the child English names.
There is a saying that we have party after party which truly manifest itself today. When everyone had gone, the guy began theirs and so many other guys came.arpind ands we're filled with dancing competition. This got the party interested and very much fun. It's good to have fun and to know people from all angles.
