Have you ever been to the United Kingdom? If you haven't been there yet and wish to go there, I'll give you a glimpse of what it felt like to experience all things British!
Last Saturday, my sisters and I went to The Great British Festival. The event took place in BGC and was filled with exciting booths and amazing performances. After years of being on hiatus, it is back on the scene. It was actually my third year attending this festival so somehow, I know what to expect. Let me also share with you how we were able to experience Great Britain throughout the years without travelling very far.
British Fest 2023
Just like any other international travel, we started our trip with a passport. They gave us a pamphlet of the festival's programme and a passport. Inside the passport is the map where we can locate the booths. I find the passport helpful to track which booth we should explore next. There were 13 booths in total and lots of freebies, too!

Before heading to the booths, this event's arch welcomed us. The arch was pretty simple compared to the past year's events.

What's a Great Britain trip without checking the famous landmarks?
We stopped by to have some pictures taken at the replica of the Big Ben and the famous Telephone booth. Can you guess what's the third photo? That's another Harry Potter-themed photo op!

Aside from the famous landmarks, this year's British fest focused on Education. British Council was also there to guide those who are interested in taking the IELTS.

For me, the highlight of this year's festival is the stage performances. My sisters and I enjoyed the performances of the Drag Queens like itsladymorgana and puralukavega and a lot more. They are so amazing and I really loved their outfits! We had a great time watching them perform and get into character.

✨ MY GREAT BRITISH FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE THROUGHOUT THE YEARS ✨
British Fest 2015
I was in college when we first discovered this festival. I was studying English Literature at that time, so it seemed like a perfect opportunity to attend the Great British Fest. Wil and I decided to go. It was also a great opportunity for us to bond. The fact that the venue was just near made it even better.

Wil and I enjoyed our first British Festival experience. We got to see some of our favorite things, including Game of Thrones displays and mini tour of famous landscapes in the UK. We took lots of photos with them.
It was also jam-packed with pop culture. There were photo ops featuring Harry Potter-themed backgrounds, Mr. Bean, Doctor Who, Sherlock and more. There were so many cars on display, too!
We had such a wonderful time at the festival that we decided to go again the next year.
British Fest 2016
2016's British Fest focused on British Literature, and as a Literature student at that time, for me, it was the best. There were Sherlock escape hunts and Shakespeare live shows.

As a Potterhead, it was a dream come true to experience visiting the Platform 9 3/4! Sadly, I wasn't able to pass through this photo-op wall. Muggle things~ HAHAHA

Since Literature is the focus that year, they also featured one of the children's book series created by the British author, Roger Hargreaves. Here's the bus for the photo-op of the book series Mr. Men and Little Miss.

Aside from Literature, there's an auto show featuring different brands.

One of the highlights of that year's British Fest was the replica of Buckingham Palace with the UK's flag. We took lots of pictures here as well!

Aside from the Buckingham Palace, there's also a replica of the Stonehenge. I was actually surprised that I fit in one!

We got to experience United Kingdom even without traveling but I do hope we get to go there someday, too! I was able to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of Britain's culture, arts, fashion, sports, innovation, and even education, thanks to this festival.
'Til my next British Fest experience! ✨
