My experience this weekend is easy to explain: it's hot and I feel hot. It feels like summer even though we are at the beginning of March, still, supposedly winter. I was commenting previously here that with other hivers too, so that's my inspiration. Thanks.
And what happened? Suddenly, after weeks of quite cold around here, to which we are not usually too accustomed, although it is normal, the temperatures in two days have risen by around 15 degrees, I think more, the case that, these days we are precisely reaching about 28 or 30 degrees (for American friends around 90ºF). A lot.
Because our bodies aren't used to it yet, at least not mine. So suddenly. And I woke up unexpectedly suffocated with heat, I quickly opened the window and I thought about going for a run on the beach early in the morning, it's better at that time.
Accustomed to mornings that are still late at night, dark and cold, now there is a lot of light and now heat. A strange feeling going out in shorts and a top, and just starting to sweat. What a burden!
While I was sweating as it had been for quite some time, the sun seems to be staring at me from higher up, demonstrating its illuminating power and shining with radiant force, too much from too early. And you can see it.
Because you breathe worse and because you are not prepared for that now. And I've noticed it, that heat that makes you a little dizzy, that makes it hard for you to breathe a little more, and you move more slowly. You appreciate every subtle slight movement of the fresh wind, hoping it doesn't stop... with how good it was to go running in winter with gloves!
The hands are no longer cold, but are suddenly almost swollen from such a sudden change in temperature in just a few days. A madness that affects. And like crazy I have returned before to arrive sweating and eager to shower, and to throw cold water on my legs. What a relief!
Going out with wet hair while you open all the windows in the house, feeling that air that no longer cools and that hardly moves and the rowdy birds that will think that the spring season has passed. Where is?
Spring will come, let's hope. Because this is not going to last, this heat that they have thrown at us has been more like an episode of temporary weather madness or who knows what, but in a couple of days it seems that it will go down again and almost in the same abrupt way, maybe not so much but possibly about 10 degrees less hit. Will we have to wrap up again?
You have to be careful, neither too little nor too much, putting on or taking off what is necessary, and keep an eye on the weather. So that we don't get dizzy, heat strokes or, on the contrary, cold. Because it is common to catch a cold in the face of sudden and abrupt changes, the body does not adapt so fast and it feels bad. You have to have that, yes, always, a good immune system so that it is increasingly resistant to the meteorological madness of these crazy days.
Maybe from now on, perhaps, I don't know, it's then when we feel something intermediate, warm, neither cold as before, nor this precipitous heat. Everything may be adjusted to give way to an incipient spring, which is just what we want.
Nothing more than enjoying each moment as it should be, and getting used to the changes and different sensations of the seasons gradually and not suddenly passing to another season, to another time, in one morning. The heat has arrived and it's really hot now. Surprise!
Happy Weekend still!
