-Fabian98-
Warm greetings to all.
I hope you are enjoying your weekend, although I know you have in mind that tomorrow the routine will start again, and as part of remembering all the good things that have happened this week, I wanted to share a huge joy I have, and it is not only for that since I also think this is a way to motivate me when in the future I will see all the progress I had.
To put it in context, since my wife and I got married, our dream has always been to be able to finish our house, a home where we can be and feel at peace. Of course there have been inconveniences that have interfered with our goal, for example, one of the biggest is the economic situation in our country, where it is very difficult to try to get what is necessary to build our home. Everything is very expensive or also the situation with respect to the job that you can't get one easily and if you manage to get one, they pay you $20 a week and you have to spend $30 on food haha (Yes, we do magic), so to achieve this goal we have to sacrifice many things and make extra efforts, so achieving this has its complications.
But thanks to God and the help of the family, we have managed to move forward, albeit at a snail's pace, but with firm steps. And it is an immense joy for me to share with you some of the progress we are already making. On this occasion I will share with you how we have been able to smooth the walls of the room, since we started with the most important area. But first let me tell you a little bit about the plans we have so that you have a context about what we want in our house.
A view of the walls with the work half done.
My father-in-law poured water on the walls so that the frieze would adhere well.
Meanwhile, I was on the other wall applying the polishing frieze.
The wall, before I applied this polishing frieze.
Effort to the maximum, although it was not noticed I was sweating as if I had run a marathon, because to make this frieze requires a lot of strength and pulse.
This is what the wall looked like before all the work.
Before I started the job, all innocent thought it would be a piece of cake haha.
Our Mimi helping me with encouragement haha.
Although it seems incredible, my father in law with almost 60 years old finished much faster than me, he even helped me to finish my part haha.
My wife and I are planning to completely remodel the house, for example finish the walls in the bedroom and put ceramic tile on the floor, then move on to the kitchen and make the countertop and also put ceramic tile on the kitchen floor and make some walls in the front of the house so we can have more space. As I mentioned before, it was a little complicated due to the country situation, but little by little and knowing how to manage very well, we have managed to start and we are not going to stop.
So here I share the moments when we were pouring plaster on the walls, my father in law willing to help me and teach me to do this job since he had the knowledge, although he had the disposition. So this weekend we set out to do it and we both managed to plaster the four walls of the room, it was quite hard work and that left us very tired, but at the same time happy that we are already progressing with the house.
Something that makes me happy and motivates me is the phrase that I mentioned at the beginning, is that I have the satisfaction that I am building this house with my own hands, which besides making me value it a lot, will give me the necessary motivation to fix anything that is needed or to improve it even more. Of course I am not an expert mason, but with the good advice of my father-in-law or grandfather who guide me, I am improving and managing to build this little home.
Later I will share other progress we have made until little by little we finish it completely and achieve the house of our dreams. Next weekend we are going to finish some details and start painting the walls, my wife chose a nice green that will combine with a peaceful and tidy environment. Thank you very much for reading and stopping by. I hope you have a great weekend and tomorrow a great start to the week, see you next time.
