Although both success and failure are opposites and everyone loves to identify with the former and run far from the latter. I feel there are more than one occasions where they've both intertwined with one situation leading back to the other.
Sometimes there's success in failure and there's failure in success.
There are times that success feels like failure. Situations where on your way to success, you've done more harm than good and suddenly success feels lonely with no one to share in it.
There are also times where failure brings about success. Times where you're at your lowest point and support and solidarity you get surprises shows how much you've achieved in other aspects of your life.
One of the things i admire about the sporting world especially the ones that have to do with team sports is the sense of belonging you get from them.
You see individuals from different background, society, race and culture coming together to form a bond together.
Yeah money is involved, but you can't deny that many people also make like changing relationships as well.
The idea that you succeed as a team and you fail as one is usually used to show solidarity with one another and also the belief that the team is bonded by both it's strengths and weaknesses.
For some it's easy to say you're together in success and failure when there's nothing to loose but can you say the same if your job is on the line for instance and failure would mean loosing the job. Here's where trust comes in.
Footballers like Rashford, Saka and Sancho came under heavy criticism after missing penalties at an Euro finals. They'd failed a nation counting on them.
But the hate that came along suddenly made people realize that although football is big, humanity is bigger. The whole hate soon turned to show of support for them all.
This was one of the beautiful moments where a moment of failure eventually brought people together.
Personally i once had an incident where i was supposed to deliver some goods to a particular customer that was out of my normal zone of operations, unfortunately the delivery couldn't be fulfilled that same day due to traffic delay.
The next day i had to trust the job to a driver who would do the delivery very early, so it wouldn't affect the days operation.
Management wasn't aware of this setup because you had to make the delivery on the same day regardless of unforseen circumstances. it had to be done that morning whether by magic or not.
The driver was soon on his way when the vehicle had a mechanical breakdown and narrowly escaped an accident. Reporting the incident could mean my job, not
reporting was the same difference.
I realized that trust was paramount here. We were both willing to either succeed together or fail together.
In that moment i realized i already had a family outside my own family. It didn't matter if i lost the job anymore, what mattered was someone trusted me enough to put theirs on the line.
