My HS friend sent a message to our barkada group chat a few weeks ago, informing us that she would be in Manila for a few days because of some work training. Of course, I had to meet up with her because it has been years since I last saw any of my friends from Cebu and she adjusted her flight so we could spend time together. Also, I felt like she would already kill me if I won't go this time, as I didn't push through with our meet-up plan last year. HAHAHAHA
We agreed on meeting on a Saturday, and I was super confident about the schedule since it was a weekend. But then, after I confirmed, I realized that we would have workbox exchange for our class that day, and I had to be in school!!! I reflected on things for a while. haha. Good thing, I got to adjust our work schedule and things went as planned. Woooh!
We agreed to meet at Greenbelt, as my friend wanted to try Din Tai Fung, which is apparently kind of trending on Tiktok? I wouldn't know because I rarely open that app. Haha. Din Tai Fung is a Chinese restaurant, which means that most, if not all, of their food have meat! My inconsistent pescitarian self was thinking twice about it at first, but then, it is not everyday that I get to eat out with my Cebuana friend, so I went with the flow and ate whatever she ordered. Hahaha

It was a nice lunch date. We got to talk a lot about our adulting lives. Who would have thought that we were the same girls who fought and cried in class during High School? Hahaha. Good old days.
Anyway. After having lunch, we started our journey to buying a bunch of pasalubong for her family and colleagues. First stop: Contis. We bought Mango Bravo Cake and other pastries. We then headed to Glorietta to find Eng Bee Tin.

It was past 1PM when we finished buying all the things she needed, and her flight back to Ceb was at 4PM that day. But before we went to separate ways, we took a few pictures together. Super cute pala because we were a bit matchy-matchy, which we didn't even plan! Hahah
I orginally planned that after she leaves, I would stay in a cafe around Makati to date myself for a bit. But for some reason, I felt kinda suffocated being there alone. I found myself wanting to escape right away instead of looking for a spot to stay at.
Since I took the MRT going home, I decided to make a stop at CBTL Cubao. I wanted to stay for at least an hour, but my phone kept on receiving messages and I had to take care of several deliveries to or from home. In short, I couldn't fully enjoy my stay at the cafe, so after writing an entry on my journal and drinking my frappe, I accepted defeat and finally headed home.

It was quite an eventful day, which is quite different from my usual home days. Yay! I have more plans waiting for this month, and I am looking forward to them all!
Stay sane and safe!
Let's spread happinaness.
