Mama Mary's Shrine Of Simala Cebu is one of the biggest shrines here in Cebu Province which is visited by a lot of people both locals and tourists.
Last Sunday, we decided to re-visit Simala Shrine with my little family. It is our second time to be here with my son Jacob and our first time going here by car. We used to visit the sheine before just by motorcycle. It is indeed such a tiring travel experience but it is all worth it.
Last Sunday we woke up at 4:30 in the morning since the travel time from Tuburan to Simala takes almost three to four hours, depending on the speed of our car's travel.
We first stopped by the town of Balamban to buy some gasoline.
The gasoline we bought was unleaded worth ₱1,000.00 for 18.66 liters and was priced at ₱53.59 per liter. Gasoline here in the Philippines is quite cheaper rather than those from other countries because every time I send my dad gasoline updates, he always tells me the current price in Germany which constantly shocks me and is way expensive.
Before every long travel, we always make sure our car is in good condition and we make sure it has sufficient gasoline.
After we bought some gasoline, we then continued hitting the road since we are looking for some fast food chains open 24/7 since we wanted to go grab a few bites.
PORT OF TOLEDO
Toledo is a beautiful city in the midwest of Cebu Province which has a famous port that has ships heading towards the island of Negros.
We found this Mc Donalds branch which is open 24/7 just located near the entrance of Toledo Port. We did stopped over to grab an early breakfast. This was around 5:30 am already.
We the parked our car in the parking area and we went in.
I then went to the ordering kiosks and chose the foods we wanted. These ordering kiosks are sometimes a hassle because it is time consuming. It sometimes feels faster to just go to the cashier directly since they will be doing the exact same steps.
I ordered the foods we wanted.
For the first order of business: we got ourselves some coffee since we need to be fully awake for the entire trip. Mcdonald's coffee really gives that extra kick.
Look at my 10-year old handsome son, Jacob. I am so happy he grew to be such a fine little man and he is responsible and God-fearing, just how I want him to be.
Filipinos as we are, rice is our staple food. As seen on the photo, my son ordered some chicken fillet and he also got himself some extra rice. He always wants that every time we eat out in his favorite fast food.
I also asked for some fries since I love to eat it most especially when it is freshly cooked. I love to eat it paired with gravy and not with catsup.
My son also was delighted to see their play pens and I made a joke if he wanted to play, I will wait for him. He smiled and said he is already too old for such play grounds. How time flies so fast. He used to play in these play grounds back when he was younger.
We then went back to our car and continued on our travel. It is indeed gonna be a long day ahead. Ciao!❤️
