Bad weather keeps conditioning our outings. It looks like it will be like this one more week.
Today, we were commissioned by a cousin who's living in Chile to pick up a package he sent to his mother. We agreed to meet the lady with the package at the Capuchinos subway station.
We left @manujune at church (rehearsals) and took a bus to the Capitolio subway station.
From there, we walked to Capuchinos.
Even if one wanted to ignore people eating from the trash on a quiet Sunday, it is kind of hard.
We walked around the Plaza O'leary (named after an Irish soldier, Daniel O'leary, who fought in our Independence War). This is a beautiful place despite the decay and negligent maintenance. The look is still impressive, even if the smell makes you think twice before walking around.
We went through one of the buildings all the way to San Martin Av.
We walked some four blocks to the metro station and waited for the person who would meet us there.
Even though we did not know this person and had not had prior contact with her, when it comes to delivering messages from children in exile, this scene is not rare to see.
We got our assigned package and walked back. Now we have to wait for a relative who will come to Caracas from Cumaná and when she goes back home, she will deliver it to its final destination.
The view was wonderful and i could not resist the temptation...
How I wish I could go back in time and wall these streets when they were in their prime!
