Sometime in spring, I found a hidden paradise nestled amidst towering structures in Central, the capital city of Hong Kong. While exploring the place, I stumbled upon Forstgate Conservatory, located atop the hill from the waterfalls. The conservatory has three sections, and one of them is the Dry Plants House I featured in my recent blog, a desert in the city. It houses succulents and other dry plants of different sizes and shapes from different parts of the world. Today's blog will be about the Humid Plants House at Forstgate Conservatory.
My amazement continued as I stepped into the third section of the conservatory. The green tapestry greeted me, and I took in the beauty of the natural world while expanding my knowledge of the botanical world. From the arid desert at the Dry Plants House, I was transported into a rainforest at Humid Plants House. It is astounding how many varied environments are on display at this conservatory, taking visitors to various corners of the plant kingdom.

Botanical creatures thrive in this conservatory: lush trees; plants of different kinds; flowers in vibrant colors; and even medicinal and endangered plant species are conserved here, and this gives environmental awareness to visitors about the importance of conserving nature. The place has a remarkable resemblance to a small rainforest. The pond's water surface was covered in floating lilies. My eyes were delighted by the surrounding vegetation, while my ears were soothed by the sound of the waterfalls.
My walk in this conservatory reminded me of the significant influence that nature has on us, and our responsibility to preserve, value, and safeguard it in this complex world with a complex ecosystem. This is a place where people may learn about biodiversity while immersing themselves in nature, rather than just a place where botanical plants thrive. On top of that, its tranquil atmosphere truly makes it a haven for nature lovers, and even for knowledge seekers.
