Sometimes the best team building experiences happen when you literally can't see beyond your immediate surroundings – and that's exactly what happened during our overnight stay at Serenity Farm in the mountains of Cebu.
We arrived at 1pm with our department of 30, excited but unsure what to expect from this mountainous retreat. The farm welcomed us with crisp mountain air and stunning views that stretched across the rolling hills of Cebu's highlands. The accommodation was perfect for our group size, with enough space for everyone to settle in comfortably while still maintaining that cozy, communal atmosphere we were hoping for.
But the real magic began as the day wound down. By sunset, something extraordinary started happening – fog began rolling in like a gentle, ethereal blanket. What started as wisps dancing around the treetops gradually transformed into something much more dramatic. Within hours, we found ourselves completely enveloped in a thick, mystical fog that seemed to swallow everything around us.
The trees that had been clearly visible just moments before became ghostly silhouettes, then disappeared entirely. The clouds we'd been admiring from below suddenly became our reality as we found ourselves living inside them. It was as if Serenity Farm had transported us to another world – one where visibility extended only a few feet in any direction.
This unexpected weather phenomenon became the highlight of our team building experience. Without the usual distractions of scenic views or outdoor activities, our group naturally turned inward. We gathered closer together, conversations became more intimate, and the fog created this incredible sense of shared adventure. There's something bonding about being "lost in the clouds" together that no planned activity could have replicated.
The isolation from the outside world – both literally and figuratively – allowed our team to connect in ways we hadn't anticipated. Games became more collaborative, discussions more meaningful, and laughter more frequent as we embraced the mysterious atmosphere surrounding us.
By morning, as the fog lifted and revealed the breathtaking landscape once again, we realized that sometimes the best team building happens when nature decides to shake up your plans. Serenity Farm gave us exactly what we needed: a chance to disappear from the world and find each other in the process.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
