Growing up, I was taught that gambling isn't a good practice. It is where people loose their fortune and go insane. Up to this day, I still believe this holds true in my core beliefs but trying it for the sake of experiencing it shouldn't hurt.
Over the weekend, Ben and I visited a casino resort. This place has a variety of amenities like high-end malls, restaurants, and ofc the casino. We planned to just stroll around and have dinner later. The next thing we knew, we're already in the information desk for registration. It's actually free plus they're giving away a tote bag and a solitaire card for every registration, so we took advantage while we're here.
The ambiance of the place feels like an arcade full of games. There's free coffee, tea, and water in the counter, too. I noticed people gathered in this place varies- there are foreigners, middle aged Filipinos, and older people. None for my age group.
Although Ben and I aren't sure of the rules of the games, we decided to give it a shot anyway. I've seen some players won tons of money per spin but who knows how much it costs them too. We look for a slot machine that gives us the feeling of "luck".
Why Casinos in Macau are just located adjacent to one another
Someone once said that the reason behind the location setup is because some gamblers believe that "luck" changes locations. So if one player is unlucky in the first casino, chances are, he will find luck in the next one he goes.
Going back to our game, I can only offer P100.00 but unfortunately, the slot machine doesn't accept a hundred peso bill. Ben inserted P1,000.00 in his slot machine which got accepted. Despite my protest, he continued his game. Spin after spin, we gained and lost, and finally, the 1,000 pesos vanished.
I knew this wasn't a good idea. A thousand pesos could've bought us something useful like clothes, food, etc. We went to the exit fighting over it haha.
In hindsight, I knew nothing good will ever result in gambling. Some say investing in stocks and crypto, and even doing business, is similar to gambling. I disagree. Although these have risks similar to gambling, it's one that is calculated. There are charts, news, and computations, which guides the decision making. Contrary, in gambling, there is none. You just spin the wheel and hope you get the jackpot.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
