Weekends are my favorite time to indulge in two of my greatest loves—food and good company. There’s just something magical about going on little food trips with my boyfriend or friends. It’s not just about satisfying cravings, but about creating warm memories over shared bites and laughter.
Last weekend was one for the books. Ben and I kicked things off by visiting a cozy cafe we’ve been wanting to try. The moment we stepped inside, the scent of fresh pastries and espresso was already a treat. We ordered their bestselling cheesecake and avocado cake—yes, avocado cake! It was surprisingly delicious with a soft, buttery texture and a subtle sweetness that paired perfectly with our Spanish latte and orange juice. Sitting across from Ben, sipping coffee and sneaking bites from each other’s cakes, I felt grateful for the slow, sweet moments.
Later that day, our food adventure continued at Bucket Shrimp, a fun and casual seafood spot. We rolled up our sleeves and dug into a messy, flavorful feast of shrimp tossed in garlic butter sauce. The experience was far from fancy, but that’s exactly what made it perfect—just messy hands, happy tummies, and laughter echoing across the table.
The next day, I caught up with my friends at J.Co for a much-needed coffee fix and chika session. I ordered their oat milk caramel latte, not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised when my drink arrived with a warm honey glazed donut. The pairing was unexpectedly perfect—the donut’s sweetness complemented the creamy caramel notes in my latte. It was such a small detail, but it made my day.
Food trips like these remind me why weekends are meant to be savored. Whether it's with Ben or my friends, every cup of coffee, every shared plate, and every bite brings joy and connection. And really, isn’t that what life’s all about? Great food, and even greater company.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
With love, Jane
