Hello creative weekenders
Today I am here to tell you about my adventure in a beautiful corner of my city Caracas, Venezuela.
Taking the opportunity to express the natural beauty of my country and what I enjoy very little being so close to it, but these Sundays I have taken up again and I want to share with you.
My city is super convulsed, many walk like crazy or robot marking the pace for work, school, because of the pandemic has grown informal trade, there are many people on the street, offering their products, likewise, this Christmas time also makes people become a little compulsive with shopping and go all out to buy. Sometimes it is chaos.
For my part, I like to wait for the tide to go out, for everyone to unburden themselves of their shopping and then I take the risk of looking for some detail for the house or the family.
However, what I like most about my city is the encounter with the sky, when I look up there is an imposing blue canvas with white clouds, a radiant sun, at this time of the year which is my favorite, the weather is cold, a light layer of mist dawns in the city that makes you want to stay in bed. Likewise, a bright sun warms you, if we are in the shade it is cold, if we get out of the shade it is hot.
From my house I see, also the magnitude of the mountain that embraces the city, it looks at this time particularly splendid, super green, with various shades, and in all its wide extension and inviting me to visit it.
So these weekends it has managed to capture my attention, to walk through its silts and escape from this convulsed and a little crazy city.
Very early on Sunday morning I set out to climb its paths. I haven't walked it for a long time and I'm a little afraid of getting tired and not reaching the viewpoint. But with a positive mind, I set out to climb, I met a friend who accompanied me on the adventure.
We arrived at the beginning of the climb, as this mountain is a National Park, it is guarded by the guard and park rangers. We went up a steep concrete road, as there also go up rustic cars to take people to their tourist inns and to enjoy the climate of this mountain.
So we started our adventure to the Warairarepano National Park (an indigenous name) but commonly and romantically we call it Avila Hill.
On the ascent we meet many people who take this climb to exercise or enjoy the tranquility that nature provides.
I go up and feeling my heart in my chest as if I wanted to leave, but I go very calmly enjoying the ride, talking, laughing, breathing, watching the changes in the vegetation, the weather that is getting colder and colder on the ascent.
After an hour of endless curves, we reach a spectacular viewpoint, where we see the embrace of the mountain and the city, seeing this fills me with great happiness. Getting to this point is a blessing.
We continue climbing and the road becomes a dirt road where we only pass one person on a path of very dense vegetation, here we jump stones, we observe butterflies of many colors, as they have fallen several rains the vegetation has grown a lot and I feel that I am in a jungle, with vines and soon Tarzan will come out.
It is a beautiful reunion with nature, see the very tall trees that are moved by the wind, and have a particular sound, feel that cold breeze on the skin, the sun on the face, close your eyes and in the silence of the city listen to the music of nature, birds and insects, even if they are a little annoying.
We arrived at a viewpoint further up where we continue to observe this beautiful city with many houses and stories to tell.
At this point, we had lunch and stayed there for a while, enjoying and admiring the city from the heights.
After a while, we start the return, and we go back to dive into the jungle, which this time is downhill and it is easier and more fun for me.
We make a stop at a small waterfall of icy water that comes down from a mountain stream. There I am provoked to jump in completely but I did not come prepared, I just wash my face, I refresh myself a little to continue the descent.
This mountain has it all, a great escape from the city, as we descend we say goodbye thanking our bodies for taking us to live this experience with all our senses.
Thank you for joining me on this tour, but I have returned to the city to live the reality of everyday life.
See you in the next idea
