My first memories of the AFX slot cars. I was around 7-8 years of age. My older brother had a modest race track set up. A figure 8 with a raised section over top of the crossover. Of course I was only allowed to watch. Strictly hands off. "Yeah Right"

I got pummeled so many times for messing with them when He was not around. Eventually my mother bought me the cheapest set there was to keep the peace and maybe even save my life... lol
While researching a little online. I was pleasantly surprised as they have a new website and are still quite popular. It has been several years since I have done anything with the electric slot cars in the 3D world or online.
When I was 10-12 years old I had a small collection of slots. About 20 or so. Many were used hand me downs like almost everything else I had as a kid. But One of them I got new from the old "K-Mart" store was a "Prime Mover" complete with a trailer on a second guide pin where the rear trailer tandem wheels rode on the track. Our neighbor had a huge track set up in his parents garage. Great memories, no photos. I do beleive I may have some paper photos in an old album yet to be scanned and digitized. An album recently given to me when my step Mother passed away two years gone by now.
Fast forward to 1999 to 2001 where I did some local trucking and was home a few nights a week and most weekends. I rebuilt my old hobby in a spare room on a 3/4" 4X8' sheet of oak.
Here are a few photos of that project that is now on a rope and pulley system and hanging near the ceiling in my mancave.
I will again someday hopefully race the electric slot cars up and around thru the mountain pass and tunnel I constructed.
And I invite you to virtually ride along with me when I do park the real "Prime Mover". I will be posting more then. As I look forward to living life by the minute and not by the mile.
As always, thanks for ridin' along with ol' KrazzyTrukker and Sammi Jo!
