Music occupies a primordial place in my life, it is something that I enjoy a lot from the moment I wake up in the morning until I put my head on the pillow to sleep, whenever I listen to music I get to connect with a sense of well being, everything depends on the style of music I choose to listen to. For sleep I use my headphones and listen to my favorite set of songs that help relax my body before going into deep sleep. In my night set I always listen to instrumental melodies that have soft rhythms, without abrupt changes in their chords, that calm my thoughts and that are a direct bridge to induce sleep. With this ritual that I have been practicing for many years, I have been able to sleep deeply and have a restful sleep.
What song brings a tear to your eye? When I first heard the song Creep by “Radiohead” I experienced two opposite emotions, I felt emotion because of how beautiful the melody seemed to me and also sadness for no personal reason. My first encounter with this song was something chemical, I spent weeks listening to it several times a day. After several days practicing on the organ I have at home, I managed to play its chords with perfect harmony. The lyrics of this song are very sad, it is about an impossible and platonic love, maybe I felt identified since many times I have experienced this kind of situations where I fell deeply in love with someone I knew would be unreachable. This song talks about impossible loves, about different lives where you try to become a perfect person in order to fit in the environment of the loved one. I love a part of his lyrics where he says that he is willing to please all her desires with the only goal that she considers him as a special person, here the song is an invitation to hope to not let ourselves be defeated by the insecurities that we may feel inside. I still feel a lot of sadness when I listen to this song, but not because of my past but because of the nostalgia it conveys.
What song makes you feel happy and uplifted? A song that transmits me a lot of happiness and makes me feel encouraged is called “Esta Vida” its author is “Jorge Celedón”. This song is very motivating, it has a good rhythm that invites you to dance even if you are alone. My first encounter with this song was love at first sight, I feel that its lyrics are very similar to my personality and character, since its lyrics are surrounded by optimism, hope, good attitude in front of all the circumstances of life, good sense of humor. It is a song where its lyrics invite us to live each day as best as possible, turning sadness into joy, it invites us to live each day to the fullest, because this life is only one, it is a journey where we must make the most of it because there is no other opportunity. We must turn our life into the best experience. These lyrics go hand in hand with the way I enjoy every second of my life.
