Hi everyone, I'm Lisbet, and today I'll be talking about one of the topics of this week's @weekendengagement.
I won't lie; several times I have looked at my surroundings and thought, "God, get me out of here," and I have my reasons to think like that. I am from Cuba, specifically from a small town in the countryside of the city of Santiago de Cuba named Contramaestre. I liked it there, but I always dreamed (and I still do) about living somewhere else, some place brighter, bigger, and full of color and culture. When I was in college, I met the love of my life, @alto96, and we got married after I graduated.
Nowadays, I live in the city of Santiago de Cuba, and although it is a beautiful city full of culture, colors, and music, I don't live in the center of the city. I live in the part of the city that we call the Districts, a part of this city that nobody find specifically 'amusing'. It is not the ugliest place in the world, but it has this kind of 'bad vibe,' is a place where crimes and vandalism are committed, and even though it is not quite usual, it is still a bad area to live. Of course, not all people are like that; you can find intellectuals, doctors, professors, and all types of people. However, the surroundings are depressing, and there are mountains of garbage and very unpleasant places. That is why I want to move out, but that will take some time. In the meantime, I try to enjoy every little thing in my life.
