Remember the time when we cleaned the garden and sorted the stones?
I mean, when we scrub the stones clean and put them back neatly in the garden?
It didn't turn out well.
So this weekend, our mission was to work with gravel for the landscaping project.
Because we had already cleared the area where we wanted to lay the gravel, like removing any weeds and debris... we then measured and marked the boundaries, making sure everything was perfectly aligned.
With shovels and rakes, we began transporting the gravel from the pile to the designated spots.
However, as we started spreading the gravel across the designated area, we quickly realized it was more challenging than we expected.
The gravel was uneven, and our initial attempts to spread it out smoothly resulted in patches that were either too thick or too thin.
At first, it felt frustrating. We tried to rake and level the gravel independently, but the effort seemed almost pointless.
Some areas remained lumpy, while others looked thin.
So we took a step back and discussed our plans like decorative borders.
To ensure proper drainage, we raked the gravel meticulously, creating a smooth, even layer.
Also with extra hands, we divided tasks — some shoveling gravel, others raking, and a few smoothing out the surface with hand tools.
Gradually, what once seemed impossible turned into a manageable, even layer of gravel.
By late afternoon, the area was looking significantly better.
The sky turned into stunning shades of orange and yellow, casting a golden glow that reflected off the newly laid gravel and framed the landscape perfectly.
We felt grateful for the day's hard work, teamwork, and patience.
This weekend reminds us that beautiful results are possible — and that sometimes, the simplest moments, like watching a sunset, bring the greatest joy.
Until our next accomplishment and camaraderie... Buh-bye. 👋🥰
