Last Sunday, we celebrated in advance the birthday of my boyfriend's brother, Roderick. He will be turning 20 this September and since everyone is busy on a weekday, so the whole family decided to have it celebrated on a Sunday. Initially, my boyfriend and I agreed to attend a 9:30am Mass at Basilica del Santo Niño but later on, Roderick decided to tag along with us. He wanted to visit the church and thank God for all the blessings he had received so that's why he tag along. So the three of us attended the 9:30am mass. Aside from attending the mass, we also lit some candles inside the church to further say a prayer of thanksgiving and other intentions.
Afterwards, we then proceeded to their home for the celebration. There was a lot of food prepared on the table, which was as follows: pig roasts (commonly known in the Philippines as "lechon"), pork blood stew (or known as "dinuguan"), stir-fried noodles (or known as "Pancit Canton"), fried chicken, and shrimp, which were perfectly partnered by the ready-to-pick hanging rice (or known as "puso"). The other foods that we had during the celebration were the cake and 2 flavored square-cut pizzas, which were the Cheese Pizza and the Garlic Shrimp Pizza from S&R.
Aside from the food on the table, everyone also had a great time chit-chatting with one another. There were also some who sang their hearts out through the videoke/karaoke. We all had fun, and we all went home with a happy tummy, together with the wonderful memories we created.
