Weekends come and go, filled with so many activities for me. I am mostly engaged during the weekend. I hear a lot of people say they rest more during weekends and work during the weekdays and I can't help but imagine and wish I could relate to what they say, but no! Weekend activities won't let me.
It started right from the day I decided to be a school teacher and a home/private tutor for children. Basically, I worked during weekdays, but during the weekend I worked more. I have come to enjoy my weekend because it keeps me engaged and gets my mind rolling.
But then, one of the things I enjoy during the weekend is the fact that I get the time to do the things I couldn't do during the weekdays.

I woke up on Saturday morning and got ready to fetch a few rubbers of water for laundry. I swept and cleaned the house as usual but then I spent more time doing it on Saturdays than weekdays. I cleared out the cobwebs, cleaned every furniture, and cleaned the window glasses. From there, I went into washing a heap of clothes( If there were an award for Best Laundry Champion, I’d win it hands down! I washed my clothes, my parents’ clothes, and Granny’s, too — my fingers were definitely put to the test! 😩😂)
I also went to the local market to buy foodstuff for the family and cook as well. It was a long walk under the scorning sun, but I finally got there, bought a few items, and got home to prepare a big pot of soup for the family.
Moving from home, I went for my private lesson with my kids, where we read, wrote, and understood our academic books. We learned mathematics such as Mixed fractions, prime numbers, addition and subtraction of numbers, as well as some spelling of words. I spent over 2 hours with them after being sure they had articulated and understood what they learned.
As night fell, I remembered I had a design project to send to a client (yep, I’m a graphic designer in learning! 😎). I eagerly polished it up and sent it off, feeling such a sense of accomplishment.

I wrapped up the night with a good book, reflecting on all the wonderful experiences of the day, and I couldn’t have felt more grateful. While I may not have a typical restful weekend, I genuinely love the joy they bring! It’s a time to be productive, connect with my passions, and spend meaningful moments with loved ones. My Saturday was full of happiness, and I can’t wait for the next one!
Thank you so much for sharing in my joyful weekend journey!🙏💖
