TEMA UNO: SIN ELEMENTOS
I would like to start with the ring for key chains, from my point of view it is one of the most important inventions in history, imagine that you had to have your keys loose in your pockets or tied around your neck with a cord. I could bet that in less than a week we would arrive at our house and we would not be able to enter because we had thrown away the key to the front door.
Although, I also have to admit that it is quite misused, for example, the keyring you see at the top of the image is the set of keys that I use every day and I only have the 4 keys necessary to enter and leave the house. On the other hand, there are people who have a set of keys so large that they surely do not remember that it opens half of them.
So as a secondary dynamic, so to speak, I ask you to leave an image below with your set of keys and, with total honesty, tell us if you know what each of them opens and if, on the contrary, you do not know what the number of keys opens. keys that your dad has on his keychain.
My next essential element or object would be a knife, any survival instructor could agree with me. A knife is the universal all-rounder, from cutting food, making tools and weapons, to something as simple as sharpening a pencil.
I put you in situation, you get lost in the forest and you have enough knowledge to build primitive structures, but you don't have a knife. You would have to spend hours walking until you reach a river (if there is one) to get stones to break and even then, you must pray that it does not break with the first blow. A knife could do everything, not to mention that if you spend the time looking for the right stone, you could make sparks to start a fire.
Now something more everyday, how would you portion raw meat? We would have to live in small communities, where every time an animal is sacrificed, it is cooked whole and distributed among all.
Finally, I must say that plastic would be another indispensable thing, I know that it is not good for the environment and that its misuse is killing us, although we must admit it, plastic is in everything and its properties are magnificent for everything.
For example, that water bottle, if plastic did not exist, it would have to be made of metal, glass or organic materials such as wood or leather. If it is metal, it would have to be stainless steel so that it is always fit for consumption, but on the contrary it would weigh more and surely we would not be able to enter certain places because it is metal.
If it were made of glass, it would last more than 700 years in theory, which would be a great advantage over plastic that only lasts about 300 years, but let's be honest, in less than a year it would have fallen off. Lastly, organic materials are okay in a way, they are biodegradable and good for the environment, light and somewhat practical, but they absorb moisture and end up reproducing bacteria that would possibly kill you before your time. That is why plastic is the best option in many situations.
