My no-turning-back weekend escape to Kaluangan, Asturias is one of my unforgettable travels. The slippery road, the mountain view, and the peaceful life it brings to my inner peace are truly memorable.
Ofcourse, it will not be complete without a short exploration of this awesome place after reaching our destination. Timely, it's weekend, so my friend assured us that after the heavy rains, we would surely discover the hidden beauty of a nearby place which they called "Sitio Tagaytay".
According to some locals, this place is termed as "Tagaytay" because of its colder temperature just like in Tagaytay, Philippines. And it's on the top of the mountain where you can see widely the 360 degrees beauty of the mountains around you.
We started walking at exactly 2:30 in the afternoon after the rain stopped. From Kaluangan Primary School, we're heading south portion where the "Tagaytay" can be found. It was an ordinary walk for a day and we were just bringing with us our water bottle and jackets.
Seeing on the side of the trail is the corn crops that the locals produced. There are also growing coconut trees on the lower portion which serves as livelihood of the locals. It was so lovely seeing those nice view above. It wasn't everyday that we can go to this place and admire the awesome beauty of the mountains.
The mountains on the side looks like a dragon tail. It was overwhelming because you can witness the amazing sea of clouds is just behind the mountain tail.
Thirty minutes had pass by as we continue our walk, there was a hilly part that had some landslide. I guess it was so easy for the place to have landslide because of the kind of soil that they had. So, we need to be very careful not to go near to the side of the trail.
The weather is not so hot today that is why its a chill walk for us. And us we move forward, you will not get bored because of the wonders of nature that we can see around. The mango trees near the trails, and the grasses planted on the side for their animal consumption.
While walking, it was also fun talking about the simple life that we had. Reminiscing the beautiful days we had when we where young like pointing clouds with different formations. And the breathtaking view of this place is so relaxing and gives us the inner peace. Who would have thought that we can explore this place and its mountains.
Despite the distance of walking without thinking where to go, we found this stunning view on the side of the mountain. An hour of walking just to see the sea of clouds nearer is worth of our time. I would agree to some that unplanned trips will leave an everlasting impression.
The journey going to the place is not easy but its all worth it. We enjoy a lot. The laughters, thought and emotions we shared along is unforgettable. Sometimes, all we need is a short break in our life, with nature's mesmerizing beauty.
