More often than not, we prefer to follow the herd in the wrong direction rather than walk the right path on our own,
How to make profound changes in Romania is not so much a problem, as a mission.
For today I choose the topic four:
Four: I want to change society...
If you could change one thing about society, other than politically, what would you change and why? What would that change mean to you or others now and in the future, how would it impact life and do you feel it would be a lasting change?
Some of the many questions that come up during this "process" are: can we succeed in changing society and our environment for the better? Do we have the will? Do we have the power?
Have you ever wondered why society is changing so slowly? Probably most of us have. One answer is that man has a propensity to maintain the status quo.
People tend to go with what they know rather than consider unknown options such as respecting the environment.
If there is one thing I could do in society, it would be to change people's mentality about leaving waste to chance.
Our future and that of our descendants depends on the outcome of these actions, we must learn to respect the environment.
A few years ago I proposed in my community this kind of actions where my wish was to involve a lot of children, young people but especially other people of all ages.
I wanted to have a greater influence on children, so I felt that if from a young age you are taught and shown how to be responsible it will be a great victory for everyone.
In the pictures below you can see what it means to throw garbage everywhere, I don't think this is the future.
After the garbage collection action, the area looks like this, I say it was a real success.
Garbage collection activities have even taken place in our community, with many people in the community accepting the invitation to volunteer to collect garbage.
My proposed action of not abandoning waste to chance should have had the following consequences:
- Reducing the amount of randomly abandoned waste and preventing damage the environment;
- Improve cleanliness in the local community, public spaces and even schools;
- Starting from children to all members of the community to want selective waste collection and to sanction those people they see not respecting the environment;
- Launch recycling actions/campaigns in school and local community;
But also within this topic we need to have personal development results.
How can we get these results, nothing simpler than following a few simple rules such as:
Educate communities on the need for separate collection and recycling;
Understand the importance of using waste as a raw material for other goods;
By refining and expanding our perceptions of the environment, we should be aware that the environment is not just ours personally, it is not just for us;
Developing interpersonal relationships and building teamwork skills, if we don't build teams to keep the earth alive, future generations will have a polluted environment;
Stimulating critical and self-critical thinking about attitudes towards waste collection and recycling;
I have briefly tried to talk about how I would change the society I live in, now you can come up with arguments for or against what I have written here, we are each free to make the decisions we consider appropriate.
In conclusion
Let's be a little more aware of what we're doing. Let's start looking at people and not at their functions or what they have or what they can give us.
Let's respect what we have, because it can disappear at any time. Let's respect our families, our friends and everything around us.
Let's make a better society together!
