To be or not to be a weekender?
Hello everyone
This weekend for me was one that involved many hours of driving, yes, on business I had to drive to Germany where the German community in my commune celebrated 250 years since they came to my commune (today, sadly, the old Bavarians are no longer with us, but their descendants remained and want to carry on the traditions, besides, today no Germans live in my commune because during the communist period they had to flee Romania and leave their properties behind), I will write a post about the event I attended).
As I wrote this weekend I drove about 2200 kilometers to be in the middle of the German community in Augsburg, so I worked over the weekend.
This is a photo from the event that I said I would post about.
This weekend engagement actually came together perfectly for me and I can answer from my own exeperience whether or not I worked over the weekend.
The answer to this question is probably as you have figured out, a big yes, I also work weekends, but not every weekend but only when needed.
Wait don't point the finger at me for working weekends to earn more money, to your surprise the weekends I work I don't always get paid for it, sometimes I get compensated for my days off, but it's not a rule.
Which means that when you get a job you have to be very dedicated and committed there, and not just for the eyes of the boss, no, you have to do it for yourself and for your career.
Now, weekend work is a taboo subject that we can talk a lot about, now it's up to everyone if they want to step out of their comfort zone.
When we think of the weekend we think of a few days of rest, relaxation, going out with friends for a drink and a chat and all sorts of other activities, on the other hand, when we work at the weekend I'm pretty sure you don't feel like going anywhere, you just think of going to bed and sleeping because the next morning you have to be at work again.
At least for me it is very important to balance the challenges of work and personal life, and when I manage to stabilize these two things everything is very good, I have to work like a bee but also relax like a lion.
I have to mention that what I wrote above is strictly my opinion about my job, of course we can bring into discussion those jobs that require a lot of physical work, or those where you have to work more than 8 hours a day (factory work, mining, driving, construction) and maybe in these cases you don't want to work weekends.
