My fictional story “lost in the magical forest”.
Today is Saturday, that means we will go to the countryside near the slopes of Mount Sinabung, we will deliver orders for household goods. My husband has a business selling household necessities, such as rice, sugar, cooking oil and various other goods that the Ambat villagers need. We as a family have been preparing since 7 am, the children are always excited throughout the trip, the village atmosphere is calm, the cool air typical of the mountains makes them feel comfortable, while I just fall asleep throughout the trip while occasionally opening my eyes, traveling from home to Ambat village, we usually take it within 3 hours.
“mami, mami, we have arrived in the forest” shouted the children, waking me up.The journey to Ambat village passes through the lake forest, a fairly dense protected forest. I opened my eyes, my husband slowed down the vehicle so we could enjoy the view of the forest in the form of large trees and various shrubs.
Today the weather is sunny, so the roads are not shrouded in fog, because usually in mountainous areas it often rains suddenly and the roads become slippery and fog covers the view up to a distance of 1 meter. "Today is different, it's very calm and quiet, there are no forest animal sounds, as usual," said my husband. I also saw the scenery around which was filled with trees, today the atmosphere is really calm, I whispered to myself. I feel something "unusual" but I don't know what it is, maybe because I just woke up, so my consciousness hasn't fully recovered.I looked at the paved road, I felt we had never passed this road before, even though we had not deviated from the usual path. "Take a look, why do you feel like we've never been through this street before?" I asked the children. My children began to notice the paved road and the scenery around them. "Yes ma'am, how come the road is smooth, has it just been repaired?" the children asked again. We looked at each other, we seemed lost, but how come? there is only one road to Ambat village, through this lake forest, on the left we are surrounded by trees and ravines, while on the right side there are only cliffs, so we can't get lost.
We were a little relieved when we saw a motorbike in front of us in the opposite direction, at least we didn't get lost, because my mind had wandered everywhere,
The clock shows 11.00 noon, but we haven't arrived at our destination yet, we should have arrived 1 hour ago. wuuoh, my husband started yawning, he is always sleepy when driving for more than 2 hours, so we decided to stop for a moment just to enjoy the natural scenery that doesn't exist in the city."where are we now ?" I asked my husband. My husband just shook his head, he was confused, we looked at the scenery around, we just realized that we have never passed this place before, so we strayed not knowing where.
After resting and eating, we decided to continue our journey, we were still amazed by how smooth the asphalt was, usually we always pass through potholes.
In front of us lies a bridge, we start to panic because we have never crossed this bridge before, we decide to cross the bridge and hope to run into other cars or villagers, so we can ask where are we?
A few meters after crossing the bridge, we saw a black pick-up car, I started waving at the driver and my husband honked loudly and turned on the headlights, so the pick-up driver stopped.
But the pick up car didn't seem to be looking at us, we started to panic, it seemed we were circling in the same place. we started to slow down the car and hoped to meet someone else, from a distance we saw a building on a hill, we immediately drove towards the building.
We arrived at the building, but there was no one we could ask. my husband started to worry about car oil and was afraid of breaking down in the middle of the forest. But if we didn't continue our journey, we were afraid of the night in the forest. The children started to panic, I tried to calm them down, "let's pray for safety and guidance to an all-knowing God", I told the children to pray, we continued our journey back.
After a few tens of meters, we passed a different road from the road we had passed earlier, there was a grave seen, we began to calm down hoping to meet the villagers.
But we were disappointed again, there were no residents we met, only old trees along the road.
The children started to get tired and fell asleep, my husband checked the oil supply and he was very surprised, it didn't seem like there was a decrease in oil, still like when we started entering the forest, I checked the clock and I just realized the clock just showed 11.15 minutes, meaning we just around the forest 15 minutes, even though it felt like days of traveling, food supplies were also running low, even though we brought a lot of food and drinks.
We were getting tired, my husband parked the car on the side of the road.
We're almost in despair can't find anyone to ask, we don't know where? it's almost crazy, just spinning around in a forest that we don't know which world is in. as a mother, I must not panic, I must be strong in front of the children, I determined in my heart. we decided to continue our journey. "We must not give up, let's continue until our last breath", I shouted encouraging my husband and children.
"Prayer and determination are the strongest weapons when we despair", along the way, we continued to pray that God would guide us. After several kilometers of travel, we were surprised, suddenly our car was back on the main road in Ambat village, the destination of our trip.
Fatigue has wrapped my whole body, between conscious and unconscious, I woke up when several people knocked on our car window, my husband and children also started to open their eyes. "Where is this mother?" asked the children. I just shook my head not knowing. some villagers who recognized our car, found us on the slopes of Mount Sinabung.
"What day is it sir?" I asked one of the residents.
“Thursday ma'am",
"No way sir, we left the house on Saturday and it looks like we were only lost for a few hours", I explained.
“Ma'am, this is not the first time something like this has happened, there have been several other victims before you, some even had their car found in a ravine, fortunately, the mother and her family survived”, said one resident explaining.
"So what really happened sir?" I asked curiously.
"Mother's car was taken to the magical forest", the resident answered briefly.
