My son and I travelled just over an hour to a small town called Riebeek Kasteel. You can find this town on Google Maps but basically, it is situated North East of Malmesbury just before the escarpment and mountain range I had to google to get the name of.
Interestingly enough, even though the mountain range is connected to the Du Toitskloof it is actually called the "Groot Winterhoek Mountains" thus Large Winter-corner if i translate directly.
Anyway, I have been assisting a new Warhammer player for around a month or more. He was introduced to me so I can provide some advice since he was looking at buying the same Warhammer army that I play.
The guy also got his dad into playing the game. I had thought to spend the time chatting and painting my own stuff while they all worked on theirs but once the dad met me, things turned out different.
We went through rules of the game... well, the basics of the Datasheets and th Turn Sequence.
Then we looked at the units that he has in his collection so far and helped plan possible expansions and also looked at some models that were eiher posed badly or modelled incorrectly.
There was quite a bit of "plastic surgery" that went into fixing the mess-ups. But it all worked in the end. My son @merenludick also helped to re-paint some of the units.
Here are some Youtube shorts I posted of the experience:
This weekend I had more work to do around the house.
Maybe if I get enough done I can get to do some painting on my own models.
Cheers!
