The flow of resources around praetoria became a lot more interesting yesterday as base resources can now be used to craft wagon kits.
As I enjoy looking at the flow of resources, I thought the chart below which plots the path that the resources will take would be interesting. The chart will only become more complicated over time as land progresses, It’s not a true representation for any flow of actual value at the moment as its difficult without more programming knowledge than I have to extract the data for resources used to create the crafted items, but it gives us an idea of how things move through the market.
The part of the resource flow I’m most interested in at the moment is Aura, the resource that gates all crafted materials. Personally I’m not producing Aura so I must go to the market to buy any of the crafted products so the price of them is very important to me and its really interesting to see what value the market places on the value of Aura as the only non-tradeable resource used to craft items.
Although we can see where all the resources for Aura, and the value of those resources, come from, the actual cost of the combined resource is not easy to calculate as its different for every person based on the land and bonuses used to produce it. We can though look at the use cases for Aura and calculate a value in each one that can be attributed to the Aura.
To consider the value we put on Aura for each crafted item we can get the current values of all the other resources from land.spl-stats.com and the value of vouchers and DEC from the splinterlands site.
Yes, I understand details below are outdated as soon as I type them!
Each crafted item has its own “recipe”
The easiest calculation of Aura value would be to take the Midnight Potions sale price and divide by 40 to give the value of one unit of Aura:-
Midnight Potions are currently on the market for $0.016, therefore 1 unit of Aura is worth approximately $0.0004
And if we use that as the value of Aura for calculations, we get a calculated value of crafted items as below
Looking at current market low prices for each of the items we can see that there are disparities in the value Aura -
So it looks like at present the best place to use your Aura would be creation of Fortune Tickets and if you are looking for a good deal then purchasing Auction Marks may be the way to go but it really highlights the fact that the market will find a price for a product and until the utility comes along for Fortune Tickets and Auction Marks we may not see a true value.
I do have a basic spreadsheet that can be updated if anyone wants a copy let me know, also working on a basic website that will hopefully be able to provide more information related to crafted items going forward...work in progress!
