CyberBuzz Radio is a love affair with neon drenched disruptive tech and great synthwave music
I livestream every week with new music and artists to share, do Q&A about the Hive blockchain and beyond, with great discussions and dance parties around some of the changing aspects of our world, the crypto space, blockchain, and community. Have fun, learn a little, chat a lot, ponder whether or not we're all just replicants... what are you waiting for? Come join me in the neon~
We're just normal friends with abnormal everything else🖤

It's a low to high tech sort of day. I've been expanding my hobby of raising freshwater shrimp, perfecting no tech tanks, and really making progress on my goth garden. Not exactly cyber-ish, but I still have some tie ins to share with you. Also, PolyCub defi, and lots of new synthwave to make you dance and get your weekend started. It's the best/weirdest live radio around, my darlings!
The intro track by M83 for today is just right to put you in that floating in the ether headspace:
Lulu is hanging out with me more and more for live shows, which makes me so happy! Along with happe dogs, Spring is basically here and it's my time to gush about the outdoors and nature, which is always fun given that a large portion of my career is fully tech focused and in front of a screen. So to combine the two, this entire episode gets started off as we think of aquariums, our relationship with the ocean, and the way that we incorporate contained aqua and naturescapes in science fiction movies. We begin to break down our intrinsic need for the ocean and nature, and how that plays out in the way that we design our living spaces and our ideal science fiction future design. Have you ever watched a show or played a video game set in space where there are crazy fish tanks or indoor gardens that embody untouched nature on Earth? Wherever we go in the universe, in reality or in our wildest dreams, we're always trying to recreate the familiarity and beauty of little spinning blue marble.
So one of the ways that this has been manifesting in my life is my love of aquariums, and weirdly enough, the challenge of creating functioning biospheres that don't actually rely on any special outside interference with me. We talk a little about the Walstad Method for planted tanks that are fully self sufficient. Here's a great link if you'd like to...dive (groan) into this and try it out yourself. Here's the floating cube styled Fluval Edge tank in my living room that gives me those retro-future enclosed eco gem shimmering in the dark neon night vibes we discuss here.
We go on to talk about how creating self sustaining biospheres is one of the most critical goals to supporting ourselves as we venture away from this planet, and how I'm using the Walstad method to raise freshwater shrimp in my kitchen. This cookie jar (yes, they're living in a cookie jar someone gave me for christmas. I ate the cookies, but these are not eating shrimp.) has only been opened about once a month, usually to trim the plants that are growing too crowded. Otherwise, the whole thing pretty much runs itself. Look at how cute they are!
🦐 Bonus content! If you've ever wondered what shrimp living in a cookie jar look like while rabidly attacking a single green pea, wonder no more:
While unintentional, the new Ultraboss album is called Yachtmaster and we go sailing away into the Visions of Never right about here.
From there, and our discussion about plants, we delve into urban density and retro future city design- does it incorporate the natural to offset the dystopian? We discuss aquaponics, 3d printing, smart gardens, living spaces that contain small portions of nature, and future in-home bee and fish keeping product design. (Terrible ideas? Yeah, maybe. See https://beecosystem.eu or https://www.unfinishedman.com/the-philips-urban-beehive-welcome-our-new-bee-overlords/)
What bees are when they are loose in your home/also the next song: TERRORIZER
You also can't have bee puns without a track called Save the Queen (THAT'S A HIVE JOKE FRIENDS)
To close out the show I share a few pictures of my up and coming goth garden. Last year I planted a ton of bleeding heart orchids, scarlet orchids, and black daylilies in a black mulch bed. To kick off this year I've added black gothic arch trellises for the roses, and put in black rock gardens populated with deep red succulents. This has absolutely nothing to do with Cyberbuzz but you guys like to hear about these sorts of things and I love to share with you! It leads us into a final discussion of our favourite sci-fi movie imagery of gardens, so I'll leave you with a little list of awesome, lush space naturescapes to inspire you to look to the stars and blossom~
⚠️【please note:】where's all the music at, Crim?
All musical portions have been cut from the video of episode as the video would be fully blocked in all countries around the world otherwise. While Cyberbuzz Radio is LIVE radio with the goal of helping you find artists and music that you love, replays can often fall under YT's content bans. Checking out the music on other platforms like Bandcamp or Spotify is the right way to experience quality and support the bands anyways, so it's for the best. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Bring your topics, Q&A and anything you might want to talk about on the Hive blockchain, synthwave, disruptive tech, crypto, and beyond~
I hope you have as much fun attending, participating in, or rewatching these Cyberbuzz Radio shows as I do creating them for you. 🖤
If you have questions, comments, or a topic or project you want me to feature on the show, shoot me a message! The idea of a combination livestream/podcast/live radio show is a bit confusing, but I'm so proud of what we're creating. If you want to find more amazing shows by cool people from around the Hive blockchain community, check out all of the djs from @mspwaves and the full schedule at mspwaves.com.
Catch you out there in the flickering neon sometime?
