The power of building together can’t be overemphasized. Growing up, I was privileged to have this close relationship with my siblings and we shared a lot of things in common which made it even more beautiful. One particular thing we all love and enjoy doing so much is singing together. The melody and harmony we make is always so beautiful. We grew up in a way that we were there for each other as much as it was possible and that taught me just how important it is to invest in building relationships.
Most times when I see people that like to fly solo and are doing well for themselves, it makes me doubt all that I have believed about the importance of working together. They are probably working with someone that I don’t see or someone they probably don’t regard. And it’s only a matter of time before they will see the importance of those people in their lives. Flying solo will help you go faster but if you really want to go far, the best way is to go with a team. I remember some days when my siblings and I would have misunderstandings, it would always delay a particular cause for us.
There is also this illustration with a broom, if you wish to destroy the brush of broom, the best way is taking out each strand one after the other but it is impossible to destroy the whole broom when they are together. Flying solo only makes you vulnerable but in an invisible way. Outwardly you feel so invulnerable. You won’t see it coming but when it comes you will wish you had people who you share your ideas and goals with. When we focus on building with people and not alone, it opens us to a lot of challenges but as long as you stand together with those people even in the time of misunderstandings and confusion, you will always scale through. And it will make the work a lot easier.
Togetherness is something that can break through anything. But the moment loops are observed, no matter how tiny, it makes it easier for that bond to be broken. It’s hard to keep standing by people who have betrayed us in one way or another but we should always be clear headed when making that decision of whether or not to let them go. Make sure you don’t let go of people because they tell you the truth or because they try to go against what you believe. In a case like that, what is needed is understanding and this kind of understanding can only come with a good communication.
During a time of crisis in any relationship, the first thing that is affected or should I say hijacked is the need to communicate. Especially in marital relationships. When couples have a misunderstandings among each other, they start finding it difficult to communicate and that will only make them feel comfortable staying apart and that is what probably causes most divorce today. Not really because the problem was too hard to handle. It is that the main core of what keeps them together was affected and they never realized it.
Even in your worst times, always try to keep building with people. Doing it with people is always better. Just a matchstick can’t make a burn fire even though it is the reason for the fire. If truly we want this flame to always keep burning either as a team or individual in our personal lives, we all have to keep standing together even in the bad and good times. As long as we keep our communication open with people we have shared values and interests with, I believe we will be almost unstoppable.
In the flames, we don’t walk alone, we walk as a team and that is because we know the value of everyone. We are the wood that gives the flame and that means we will make a lot of sacrifices until it is morning when the sun will appear.
Thank you for reading through and make sure you don’t let your flame burn out. Stay close to those that are burning and you will be just fine. ❤️
