Gideon has always loved Rukkie right from when they were in high school, although he was her admirer and never get the courage to tell her how he felt.
He was secretly protecting her from the other boys, from the high school tough girls just to ensure she had a pleasant stay in the college.
Rukkie was a dancer, she would represent the school in extracurricular activities and Gideon never missed attending those social activities because of her even though he wasn't really a social person.
Years passed by and so they both graduated from high school.
Rukkie had to relocate to another state after the demise of her beloved father.
Funny enough, Gideon has always been her fan on social media, he followed her on all her social handles, from Facebook to Instagram to TikTok, he just derived pleasure from seeing her update and knowing she is fine and secretly wishing they could be together.
Rukkie, on the other hand, was living her best life, she was fond of posting her private life on the media, from the activities she does in the day to who she was seeing, to places she visited, she had great content on her so social handle pages.
Gideon has grown to be a little outspoken compared to when he was still in high school so he said to himself, "I wish I could see her in person again!, she's grown so big and beautiful, funny enough nothing has changed the way I feel about her".
One day, he summoned the courage to slide into her direct message on Instagram.
It was a great battle between his heart and mind, as he was scared of being ignored.
He brought out his iPhone 14, unlocked the phone, and sat on the couch since he was previously on his bed.
He decided to search for her handle, and then he went into the message section and wrote this.
" Hey, Rukkie!,
I hope you're doing well and life has been fair with you, it's Gideon a secret admirer from high school, you might not know me because I was too shy to even approach you back then, but I just wanted to check up on you and know how you're doing, it's so painful to know that now I got the courage to say how I feel about you, you're no longer in the neighborhood and surely you might not even give a hoot about me."
Rukkie was sipping some wine when the message popped on her screen, she read through it and had a great laugh.
"So, I've even got secret admirers back then?" She chuckled. She purposely ignored the message and went on sipping her wine.
Weeks passed and then she kept getting tons of messages from Gideon, this time he was persistent, so Rukkie managed to reply just once,
Hey Gideon, I have been getting your messages, I am fine and hope you are too!"
That was the happiest day of Gideon's life, to know she replied at least one time.
Rukkie on the other hand hadn't enjoyed a stable relationship simply because most guys she met didn't love her for who she was, they were either after her money or her body and so she started to pray that God sent someone who truly loved her.
A few weeks later, she was invited as a guest of Honor at a friend's wedding, she ensured she looked her best to the wedding at least to grace the occasion.
As she stepped into the hall, she was the center of attention, she looked gorgeous, Rukkie was a tall and pretty lady in her mid 20's, she had blonde hair, a pointed nose, and charming eyes, and her smile was wild and she smelled nice, her charisma was like a course to be learned in a university.
Lo and behold, as she walked right into the event, Gideon was the Master of the ceremony.
Gideon couldn't get enough of her as he sighted her walking confidently, his heart panted and he lost control, he was gripped with mixed feelings, the happy feeling of seeing his high school crush once again and the feeling of not knowing how to walk up to her again. He ensured he carried out his MC duties but had his eyes fixed on her.
After the event was over, he told himself, I guess fate brought us back, I won't let this opportunity slip by me.
He quickly rushed off to meet her, he introduced himself to her, and to his greatest surprise, she wasn't as tough as he had thought she was, she was well mannered and they had a good laugh about the past, he went ahead to express how deeply he had affection for her right from high school and asked if they could be together?
Rukkie told him, she needed time to think over it and promised to give him feedback soon.
In less than a week, Rukkie reached out to him since they exchanged contact on that fateful day of the wedding, she told him how she has agreed to his proposal, and yes, they started seeing each other and that was the best decision of her life, because, after few years, Gideon and Rukkie tied the knot and lived happily ever after.
