"Buzz! Buzz!!", the alarm sounded, it's Friday! I woke up knowing I have a lot to do.
I manage to get up from bed at about 4:30 am, that's how my circadian rhythm has programmed my body system right from childhood, now I reach for my bottle of water beside my bed to drink and then I head to the toilet to pee, and then back to the room to read a verse of the scripture and finally pray.
At about 5:00 am it's time for exercise! I unlock my phone to find the Abs workout app, and then I work out for about 10 minutes. I click on PeakD, it's time to write, engage and upvote people's posts.
At the start of the year, I had already made a plan to be active in the hive, so each day has its community to write, Fridays are for the Inkwell community, and Fictional stories to be precise, so I begin to create a fictional story. At about 6:10, I should have been done writing.
I feel active already, so I head for the kitchen to prepare the family's breakfast and then I do my house chores.
I head for the bathroom to do the laundry at about 7:00 am, and in a couple of minutes, I'm done washing.
Since it's Friday, I reach out for my Market To-do list.
Shopping! Shopping! Shopping! Was the header, so what will I be shopping for? I take a pen to write out things I'll be needing for the weekend, basically foodstuffs and toiletries.
Monday-Thursday, I follow the same routine except for shopping, I rather go to my shop to make a beautiful outfit after doing my chores.
Fridays are for fabric sorting and shopping, so at about 8:00 am, I'm on the bus heading to the market which is quite far from home, to shop for my store and my household items.
I am very aware that I will be encountering traffic so I do not get pissed off by it, it takes about 3 hours to be at the market, where I have to shop for fabrics for my fashion store in larger quantities, zippers, and other fashion accessories.
The characters on my Fridays are usually the bus conductors, passengers, and market men and women. I come in contact with them the most on Fridays, some days the bus conductor could be annoying, I just use my headset to keep me going, and shut the noise while vibing to my music.
I live in a bustling city called Lagos, honestly, it's not for the faint-hearted ones, I need to be very smart and vigilant or else I'll be outsmarted.
At the market, I begin to walk around to ensure I get the best fashion item at a cheaper rate when I think I've finally gotten the best fabrics and I feel satisfied with all I've shopped for my fashion store, I dash to the mall around the market to quickly get my groceries and toiletries. When I head back this time not home but to my fashion store, and that should be about 1 pm or thereabout.
The struggle begins, sighs in between "phew" because the baby girl is already exhausted. I begin untying all I've shopped for, and sorting them, it takes an hour to be done with this, and I catch my breath for a while and then inhale a breath of relief!
Images are mine
I head to my work table to finish sewing the clothes I might I've left pending, and then make a video or take pictures of the outcome to post on my Instagram handle and other social media to get more clients.
I arrange them in my delivery nylon bags which will be delivered by Saturday.
My Fridays are so busy that I can't relate to the "Thank God it's Friday vibes", at about 6 pm I head for home, the distance from my store to my home is about 30mins, so by 6:30 pm I'm home, freshening up and then it's time for Netflix and chills this time not alone but as a family.
We chit-chat in between and then we pray together as a family at about 9:15 pm and zoom! zoom! Dreamland calls.
I think the " Thank God it's Friday" should be changed to "Thank God it's Sunday" for me because, after service on Sundays, I get to unwind, I could decide to visit a tour center, or the beach, or just chill with myself at home.
This is my entry @theinkwell for this week's prompt.
