George has spent the past 15 years of his life picking up these little art wherever he travelled to, as an Archeologist he did travel quite often finding and documenting histories. He felt this little collection somehow summed up his life and would tell the story of his life long journey to his great grandchildren.
You see, George had a great first love, although he became a widower quite early, he was blessed with a beautiful daughter who his wife named Kira, they had a nice life together until Joan’s passing when Kira was just 8. Kira had watched so many fairy tale cartoons and always believed she would someday see her mother again and that they will live happily ever after. George, being the adult who did not have much faith in the paranormal, would smile everytime little Kira recited her fantasy. Every two months he would go on adventures with Kira to collect rare arts to add to his collection.
On one of George's lectures in the university of art about his latest unconventional piece that proved the existence of mummies centuries ago he encountered professor John, a long time buddy in college who was into the collection of mystical objects. When John saw him he knew there was something different about him, his smile no longer reached his eyes. The light was no longer in his friends eyes and he asked what had happen. After George narrated his situation of losing his beloved wife way too early and having to watch Kira grow without experiencing a whole family saddens him. John proceeded to tell him about his new findings and the latest talk in the underground mystical art community, it was about a translucent prism like object which John referred to as the mirror “George trusts me on this, it is legit information, if one held it and thought of a loved one that has passed on they will be able to see them and as long as you always think of them they will not depart” John said explaining to his friend the supposed power of this mystical object. George kept looking at him in awe and began thinking to himself I should probably just give this a try maybe Kira’s fantasy might come true.
He asked John for the map and exchanged goodbyes with him before going home. Thank goodness the holidays were fast approaching and George planned his next trip around that time hoping to go on this journey with his daughter. Although he never told her about the object they would be searching for.
It was time and he packed a box, tent and food to last them a week. George decided to use his jeep as it was more suited for the journey ahead. When they got to the area the object was supposed to be, George made a tent for him and Kira as it was night already and they both sat by the crackling fire enjoying nature around them. The next morning they continued the search, George got so frustrated when he could not locate it and the sun was already setting when Kira said “Dad, I think we should search that cave. I feel what we are searching for is there”. True to her words, when they entered the cave sitting on a crooked rock was the translucent prism. Excitement filled George's eyes as he explained to Kira the tale surrounding the prism, they collected it thinking about Joan all the way back home and as soon as they opened the door there she was sitting on the couch with a bright smile on her face.
George's face was filled with both sadness and relief, after a long talk and hugs with Joan they found out she could not be seen by others not part of the family . But both George and Kira were happy to have her back even if she was just a ghost like being. They were happy.
