My fear of the dark started years ago due to an incident that took place in my aunt’s house.

Just like every normal holiday, my siblings and I went to my aunt's house to spend the long vacation with her family, it was a wonderful experience, we all had fun as we usually did, there was game night, movie night and we went to all the fun places that existed as at that time.
Everything went on smoothly, nobody had the slightest idea that our joy would be short-lived.
The sad event occurred one night. We all bade ourselves goodnight and went to our separate rooms, we already had the event of the next day planned, we were going to an amusement park, that was my aunt’s idea and we all couldn’t wait to go on that adventure.
Our outfits were ready, and activities were planned. We were super excited, we just wanted the next day to come in a heartbeat.
On that fateful night my aunt’s house was invaded by robbers, I mean armed and scary-looking ones, to say the least.
How did words get out that my uncle was promoted and a fat salary was attached to his new position?, we concluded that night that of a truth the walls have ears.
That night it felt like I was in a movie, all the scenes I normally came across in movies were being replicated right before my very eyes.
I was terrified that night, everyone was crying and pleading with the robbers, at first one of my uncles who lived in the house wanted to protest and the robbers gave him the beating of his life.
The robbery was crazy because they didn’t just go with the money and valuables in the house, they went as far as destroying so many things in the house.
After everything we couldn’t sleep, we just sat down at our individual positions, thinking of what had just happened, and replaying the scene over and again.
By the time the police arrived, it was too late as the robbers were long gone, with our money and all our valuables.
Ever since that day, I don’t joke with security, before going to bed I always double-check if all the doors and gates are properly locked, I rarely sleep over at people’s houses as I do not know the level of security in their houses.
9:30 pm is my curfew time as I am so scared of staying out late, nights are when most of these robbers operate so to be on the safer side I’d rather be at home than be outside.
Thanks for stopping by
Loads of love🥰🥰
