The knock on the door was so heavy that Joe couldn't breathe. Since he knew how far he has gone to escape the torment from his landlord.
Joe!!! I know you are inside and you can hear me. You better come and pay me my money before I take it to the next level and trust me you won't like it.
Even God in heaven knows I have tried a lot in your case. We did not build this house together and so, therefore, I demand that you pay me my money to avoid further embarrassment. Or a simple option is just to get out of my house so that I can get someone who will be able to afford the money for rent.
I am leaving now but trust me the next time I will come here it will not be as nice as that today. The landlord yelled and angrily left the apartment.
Joe quickly picked up his phone to make calls, but unfortunately, no one on his contact list will pick up his calls because of his present state.
Who do I call?
Where do I go from here?
He said to himself as he sat speechless looking at the ceiling, tears rolled down his eyes as he thought of better ways. To mitigate his troubles but nothing was forthcoming.
The landlord has tried his best. He gave me a discount on the rent for the past 3 months and even forfeited two months. What do I expect him to do at this point but then how do I pay him his money?
All these rolled through Joe's heart as he thought of what to do.
All the applications submitted look like a waste of time and money. How on earth will one submit numerous applications to numerous companies?
Each day in joe's life got him sinking the more as his debt increases by default and this is not good for a young man, all hope seems to be lost as he thinks of possible solutions how do I pay the landlord, how I pay Sarah's mum whom I have collected food stuff from on credit just to survive, how do I repay sir Frederick for the money I borrowed to treat myself when I fell sick.
He planned to run from the vicinity to save himself all the embarrassment that would come later. But then is that the best way to repay the kind gesture these people have shown to me? What if we meet in the next life will they still be willing to help me?
Joe thinks as he meditates on his words. No, I will stay back and make sure I fight this till the very end. All these must be settled. The moment he made that statement he felt his heart lighten up as God was waiting for him to make this declaration.
Immediately he got a phone call from one of the companies to which he submitted his CV asking him to come to the office for an interview the next morning.
This is some sort of miracle he couldn't sleep that night as he waited patiently for the day to break. Joe woke up, got dressed and made his way straight to the company. Where the interview was successful.
He was offered the work immediately, he was asked to resume work the next day with a huge sum of money enough to spring him out of the sinking pit of debt and still have time to sort out himself.
The trial time wasn't easy for him. He paid everyone he owed putting smiles on their faces as he did not only pay but also appreciated every one of them adding up a huge amount of money to the already paid debt.
Then he moved out as the company offered him an apartment and an official car to help with his mobility to the workplace and that was the end of sinking in Joe's life.
