Amber, help me go get some vegetables from the garden! Amber's mum, Becky called out from the kitchen.
Okay mum, right away! Amber answered running off excitedly
Hmm! That's strange, I wonder what's she's in a good mood about. Becky said as she watch her daughter run off.
Amber came back with the vegetables and asked her mum if she needed any help with the work in the kitchen and Becky was stunned to hear Amber ask such a question.
Are you alright my dear? Becky asked as she looked at her daughter to be sure there wasn't any problem.
Mum I'm fine, why do you ask? Amber replied even more excitedly.
Oh dear! There's definitely something up with you, you never help me out in the kitchen until right now. Becky finally said.
Come on mum! You should be happy with me that I want to help today, I just feel like I should today. Amber said smiling at her mum.
Spill it girl, what's up? Becky couldn't believe whatever she had said as a reason for her excitement.
Okay fine, I'm going out on a date with Phil... He's taking me to the Lantern Festival tonight! Amber finally gave in to her mum.
Becky was happy to see her daughter excited about the festival unlike usual because Amber had always preferred staying at home than going to the festival in the past ones. They prepared lunch together, ate, talked a lot about the festival and Amber began to prepare for 7pm, Phil was to pick her up by that time.
At the Lantern Festival, Phil and Amber couldn't stop feeling happy about writing their wishes together on a yellow lantern before they send it away. Amber was surprised to see that they both had the same wishes and that was to be together all the days of their lives.
They had first met as kids and grew up childhood friends but took a step forward when other relationships was not working for them and they realized they were made for each other but never thought of it. The two had not gone a proper date until the Lantern Festival day.
Phil watched Amber as she wrote one more wish on the Lantern after giving off her ever lovely smile.
What did you wish for again? Phil asked as he noticed Amber was trying to hide her last wish.
It's nothing, you don't have to know! Amber said waiting for the time to send the Lantern away.
Phil tried so many times to see what she wrote but couldn't and he gave up. They light up the Lantern and held it together looking at each other with bright smiles before they let it go.
The Lantern flew up slowly and Amber's last wish became visible to Phil... He was so surprised to read what she had wished for, he turned to look at Amber who was already staring at him with a half smile.
How did you know I was sick? I never told you... Phil asked Amber still looking surprised.
I know and I wish you could open up to me more please... Amber replied with a pleading face.
I will, I'm sorry and like you wished, I'll be fine... Phil said as he hugged Amber passionately.
