I opened my eyes and couldn't find sleep, it was midnight and I could hear only the sound of night owls and my already bad air conditioner. I was the only one at home but I felt like I had some guards who kept quiet but making little sounds with their swords, maybe it was just my imagination but all I wanted at that time was to get back to sleep.
It took almost an hour to get my eyes closed from the dark atmosphere in my room. I didn't know when I fell asleep but I felt relieved finally going to bed, a loud sound from my kitchen woke me up to another battle with sleep.
I couldn't get angry because I felt a shiver in my spine, every sound became like a threat to my life and I felt myself getting covered up with an invisible armour to hide away from what I was suspecting but it wasn't so in my reality.
The sound increased it's volume or maybe my ears was more awake to hear the sounds again, I saw myself jump up from my bed like I had a train to catch the next second. I tiptoed to my kitchen holding my favourite blue colour lamp, it was never bright but I didn't know why it was the first thing I thought of taking with me on the scary adventure to my kitchen.
I had forgotten to clean up the mess my neighbour's kid did the day before that night, he had poured flour all over the entrance to my room and I was too tired to clean it up. Waking up at that time of the night made me forget totally about it and I walked over it. My kitchen was about two doors away with a large corridor to separate the kitchen from the store house where I knew the sound had came from.
As I walked towards the kitchen, the flour and my slippers left footprints along the way as if it was showing me the way back to my room in case I got lost. I didn't see the flour because I had made sure not to switch on the lamp light until I was closer to the store house, it was one of the things I learned from mum anytime dad wasn't around and we hear sounds.
I knew I had to be very bold since I was no longer living with mum and dad but at the point of switching on the lamp light, I wished I would see nothing but just a random stuff falling from where it was kept so I could return back to sleep.
Switching on the lamp light, the store house was looking too blurry to see anything and from what I saw, everything was intact but I was so curious to know what exactly had woken me up from my sleep. I decided to switch on the main light in the store house but not without my shaky hands and fast beating heart.
The light was on and I saw where the sound came from. Little tiny four-legged mammals were running as fast as their legs could take them into my favourite storage having all my flour products in it. Another tiny mammal couldn't move with them, I saw that it was the one who had caused the havoc and bad luck for the others because I was going to find a way to get all of them killed.
I immediately made a way to trap all of them in my usual way with a sentence that was like a regular one for me "I didn't rent this apartment for all of us, it's for me alone". I threw the tiny animals out of my store house and the quiet sounds of the night owl and my bad air conditioner resumed their work as if they had taken a break before. I forced myself not to think of the reason I was so scared when I knew about those animals sharing my rent with me.
I walked back to my room following the footprints I had left lazily as if I didn't know the way to my room, I knew I was definitely not going to clean it up at that time but I felt tired with just the thoughts of cleaning it up.
I got into my bed and all I could remember and see after that was a darkness I had so much wish for... It was an adventurous night I never wanted.
